About me:
Right now I cook mainly out of necessity, we need to eat right? I work a full-time job, and so while I love trying new dishes and going all out, I don't have time to put into it right now except on weekends and special occasions. Growing up my Mom mainly was a stay-at-home Mom. She cooked for us most of the time, we rarely ate fast food, only eating out of occasion. I basically remember a collection of dishes, she made really good food, but generally wasn't experimental in the kitchen. I learned the basics from her by watching and helping in the kitchen. Mostly I learn from cookbooks, and occasionally I get a little creative.

BREAKSTONE'S Sensational Creamy Strawberry Shortcake

Reviewed on Jun. 29, 2009 by bizzymomma
Love it! Perfect sweetness in the shortcake portion. I opted to skip the extra sugar to coat the strawberries since the berries we had were very sweet as is. After it was all assembled though, I did sprinkle the berries on the top with less than a tblsp of sugar. Everyone loved this and it makes a very pretty presentation!

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed on Jun. 23, 2009 by thenewmarthastewart
I would give this as many stars as humanly possible. I made this cake for my dad and family for father's day. I made it in a heart shaped pan with "Cream Cheese Frosting II" in between the layers and "Rich Chocolate Frosting" for the outside frosting (altered to make less). I used Hersey's Special Dark Chocolate unsweetened cocoa powder for the cocoa powder in both the cake and chocolate frosting. I was told it was better than the Factory Mud Pie at the Cheesecake Factory and that if I didn't bring it for his birthday in two weeks I would be disowned. Thanks it was an awesome cake!

Sensational Strawberry Shortcake

Reviewed on Jun. 18, 2009 by thenewmarthastewart
I can't give it really any stars until tonight when it'll be tried at my bbq - then I will update it. I made the cakes last night, forgeting the baking powder - which just means it didn't rise as much. Later today I will assemble it and hopefully the extra creamy cool whip and strawberries will make it a hit.
