Perfect Porterhouse Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
Most Porterhouse cuts are not that tough. Tends to make the meat mush. Save the tenderiser for a nice skirt steak. Course ground pepper along with your favorite steak seasoning is the best.

Zucchini Patties

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
I grated the first zucchini and realized that it was a waste of time because they were so wet. So I chopped the zucchini very thinly instead. I removed onions because I hate them, but I think some garlic would have added nicely to this recipe. I'm going to attempt to bake them next time. I used olive oil, but they still had that fried taste instead of accentuating the vegetable. I will use this as an appetizer the next time I have guests over!

Beer Margaritas

Everyone that has ever tasted this recipe has loved it. It's my all time favorite margarita mix. It is very much requested. Occassionally I'll cut down on the tequila. It is very potent. Thanks for sharing!

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
As someone else said, this crust is more like a focaccia, but still quite good. I did as others have and used the baking powder, additional flower, and one egg. Next time I'm going to use the recommended amount of flour and see if the crust is a little lighter. Overall, we liked it a lot and I think its a good base for other recipes such as artichoke dip bread, etc. This is the first pizza dough I've made that stood up to the toppings. We'll make it again because the kids loved it.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
It came out alright. I think the Chicken Broth made it too watery, as I traditionally like thicker broccoli cheese. Nothing to write home about, but still a great base soup if you're bored and looking for something to warm you up in the winter. (PS - I used way too much Garlic Powder, be careful it can ruin the recipe.)

Wow! This was incredible! At first when I had the butter, flour and milk I didn't think that it was going to be thick enough. But then I added the sour cream and cheese and it came out amazing! A+

Slow-Cooked German Short Ribs

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
Excellant. I followed the sauce recipe to a "T". Trimed much of the fat and removal of the rib skin layer, as I used beff ribs instead of short ribs. The sauce was sweet and tangy but made great meat sauce and gravy for the mashed potatoes. Would make again

Pasta in Vodka Sauce

WOW! This recipe is AMAZING! First off, here's what I changed: NO onions or celery, and I didn't have parsley. I used 1 tsp of crushed red peppers instead of cayenne peppers, and I also added 1 pound of sweet italian sausage. This recipe is the bomb!

Super easy to make, and very tasty!! I recommend heating up the cream cheese before trying to mix it with the whipped cream. I might experiment with adding some other elements in the future.

Artichoke Dip I

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2008
Wow! What an amazing Artichoke Dip! I followed some of the other dissenters and used Cream of Celery Soup instead of Mayonaise. The thought of that much mayo made me want to vomit. I served this dish to my family with some garlic-buttered Ciabatta bread, and they ate it all! Oh yes, I almost forgot, I boiled fresh spinach from the farmers market and made it into an "Artichoke & Spinach Dip." I also followed some of the other reviewers and their advice to chop up the artichokes as small as possible. Maybe next time I will use fresh artichokes? :) Happy cooking!

Chicken Wild Rice Soup I

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2008
Oh my goodness! This recipe is better than anything I have tasted, even from restaurants! First of all, I will list my dissentions: I used a rotisserie chicken from my local grocery store. This provided a better taste and variety of meat. It was way better than just using breasts. I also left out the sherry because (a) I don't know what it is and (b) I obviously didn't have any. My wife and I *LOVED* this recipe and will definitely be using again and again.

Butter Bean Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2008
I was pleasantly surprised to this recipe! I think it was because I used Olive Oil instead of Vegetable Oil (I'm kind of anti Corn.) I also used Pinto Beans instead of Butter Beans. This is a great way to sneak in lots of vegetables into your meal. The greatest part about this recipe is that it made 4 LARGE patties, all at a cost of maybe $2.

Mexican Beef Supreme

Reviewed: May 6, 2008
This is a very good, and forgiving recipe as long as you do as other reviewers have done and simmer it longer. I ended up burning it a little because I didnt add water, but it was still fantastic. I've never had cilantro/lemon beef before, but I certainly will in the future. It's a great blend of flavors. It's also a great way to make use of cheap cuts of beef to stretch a dollar. Minor addition: We had some frozen shrimp in the freezer. As the beef was finishing up, I sauteed them in olive oil with some leftover cilantro. When the shrimp was nearly done, I mixed in the beef mixture and pretty much just let it warm for a few minutes. The shrimp had a nice light flavor which complemented the beef very nicely.

I cant yet review it, but wanted to thank Bill for posting this. I've often made my own, but I never paid attention to how much of each ingredient I used. The kids always liked what I whipped up, but it was honestly a little hit or miss. Thanks again!
