Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
Hubby and I both really liked this. Kiddos thought it was too spicy. I think next time, I would add less hot sauce or maybe add a hot pepper that's more traditional chinese to the adult's. I know that my kids would love the sweetness of it then. That being said, I did flour the chicken and browned it really well. I added julienned carrots to the sauce, and simmered the sauce while browning the chicken and cooking the rice. When the chicken was browned, added the sauce and let it cook down. I know others have said this, but it really is restaurant quality and taste. My sauce thickened up beautifully! An hour later, after the leftovers were in the fridge and I went to do dishes, I actually scraped the sauce from the pan, and ate it. Excellent!

Chunky Monkey Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
I really liked these. I was lazy today and used Mrs. Butterworth's pancake mix, and added the bananas and regular chocolate chips. Love the banana flavor, and it really works with the chocolate. Also, it is very filling, held us over until lunch, which is unusual. Surprisingly, the kids did not like it as much as I and the hubby prefers his stuff plain. Boring for them:)

Southwest Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
Excellent as written, made no changes!!! My seven yr old daughter cried out "this is the best chicken I have ever had!!!!" I only made one batch because you never know. I will make double next time. I usually have a problem with the cheese coming out, but that's ok because this time I just spooned it over the chicken. I personally was not sure about the chili powder, but it all works together perfectly. LOVE the green chilies and parmesan flavors. Somewhat addicting, as right now about 3 hours after eating it, I am wishing there were some left to snack on!!! Great submission, thanks!

This was ok. I was hoping it would help to tenderize the meat and it really didnt. The flavor was ok, nothing to brag about. I probably wont make this again.

Herbed Ravioli Salad

I doubled this recipe to take to a church dinner. It was very simple to make. There wasn't any left at the end of the dinner so I'm guessing it was a hit. I thought it was good, not great. I would probably consider making it for another group function but not just for dinner at home.

Delicious, easy, fast - what more could you ask for? Reduced fat mayonnaise, reduced fat parmesan cheese and a heart-healthy spread can lower the calories and fat without sacrificing taste. This is a keeper recipe!

No Sugar Apple Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
I made this for a diabetic friend as a treat, but we all loved it!! I loved the fact that it has no artificial sweetner that would give it a fake taste. I only cooked the apples in the juice a little, so they were not mushA previous reviewer said that the no sugar added apple juice concentrate had a lot of sugar, it is the natural sugar of the apple, not white sugar or high fructose corn syrup.

Campfire Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
We were going to do these on a camping trip over the open fire, but were rained out. I did them in a 9 x 13 at 375 for about 45 minutes covered. Then I added more cheese over the top and broiled them for a couple of minutes. We really enjoyed the flavor of these. They were mild, but you could really taste the individual ingredients. Super! I would up the Wort. and maybe add some fresh garlic nest time. The onions in the mixture were awesome, too!

Chicken Satay

Really good, lots of flavor. Used recipe as written, marinated for about 3 hours, threaded on wood skewers. Served with mac and cheese, (just in case the kiddos didn't like the chicken, I know....) cheesy green beans, and homemade butter fan rolls out of a vintage Crisco cookbook. My 7 YO girl hugged me and said it was the best I ever did!! Hubby said we wouldn't like it, which is his best compliment. Thanks for the great recipe!

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
WOW!!!! this was so delicious!! I did the meat different only because I know mine was tough. So I used the "easy slow cooker french dip" recipe for that from this site. It still took 10 hours to get it edible! Anyway, the garlic mayo just makes the whole sandwich SING!! the whole family loved it this way! 10 stars!!!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Nice, mellow flavor! Smelled great while cooking, too! Used Foster's beer cause I don't keep it on hand, and they had singles of Foster's. *My roast was very tough* cooked for 9 hours, sliced it, then put back in broth for about an hour! Served on mini sub rolls that I buttered and toasted on my griddle. Used Provolone cheese on top, super!

Ahhh! Just a satisfied sigh after a great meal! Comfort food to the max. This is a perfect recipe. Followed exactly except for the soup, used cream of chicken. My family doesn't like mushrooms or I would use the mushroom soup. Excellent, excellent recipe, thanks!!! The guys at hubby's work loved it too!!

Best Baked Chicken

Great flavor and texture. Chicken stayed very moist. The lemon and sour cream give it a nice tang. My hubby thought the ingredients sounded strange, but he ate two pieces!! Kids also liked it, which is a bonus! Thanks for the good "staple" recipe. Made this again using pheasant that hubby had hunted. It kept the bird really moist-pheasant is very lean-and tasted good. He took the rest to work and shared, it got rave reviews there too!

Feta Cheese and Bacon Stuffed Breasts

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2008
Really good! I liked how the cheese stayed inside the chicken instead of oozing out like Swiss. The bacon I used was not my regular brand and cooked up to nothing, so it didn't add much. Everyone liked this, hubby even had seconds. I am used to pounding chicken, so this was fairly easy and quick to make. I made it according to recipe, and the "sauce" was tasty too. I might put some chopped olives inside the chicken next time. (And GOOD bacon:)) Thanks for adding another tasty chicken recipe to my rotation!

Taco Seasoning

This is the texture that I have been looking for! We love the Chi Chi's fiesta restaurante seasoning, but can no longer get it around here in MI. I have been trying to come up with my own, and was basically using the same ingredients as this recipe except for the cornstarch. That's what was missing! I followed this recipe this time around to a T and we all really liked it.
