Pat's Mushroom Saute

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
I personally do not like mushrooms, so I didn't eat them. My husband gave them 5 stars. He only added a little salt and pepper to them. I served them with smoked salmon and a romaine salad with lemon vinaigrette.

Vidalia Onion Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
OMG This was absolutly amazing. I made a few additions, I added chopped red and yellow peppers and a portabella mushroom. Since I did not have enough sour cream I used a mixture of sour cream, ricotta and gorganzola cheese spread. My boyfriend and I ate half of it...now I have to make another one to take to my parents' house so much for halving the recipe.

Perfect as written! Will add 1 more Tablespoon of Liquid Smoke next time. The leftovers are frozen to make pulled pork sandwiches and pork enchilada's. Very versatile recipe. Going into regular rotation at our house.

Chocolate Fudge Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2009
I've made this quite a few times now and it has officially become my default chocolate frosting. I've made it using dark chocolate hot fudge and nutella. It's always so good! Light and fluffy, a very whipped texture. Def for the chocolate lover. Great recipe!

Blueberry Muffins I

There was something missing with the flavor of these. They were sweet, but other than that quite bland. I did like the texture of them though. The key there is really in the mixing.

I've made this before, so it's a good thing that I tripled it this time. I barely have enough leftovers to have for lunch today. Great combo of sweet, salty, savory, cheesy, veggie goodness.

Grilled Pork Chops with Balsamic Caramelized Pears

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
Like heaven on a plate. I'm not joking, that good. I would def use ripe pears, as unripe ones take forever to get soft. The first time I made this I didn't do the balsamic right and it ended up more liquid than glaze, but still sweet tasting. The second time the balsamic came out right, I just needed to let it simmer longer. This meal is relatively simple and very elegant to look at. I'm planning on making it for my next dinner party.

Chocolate Oil Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
This is as close to a box cake as you're going to get without actually making it out of a box. I thought it was pretty good, certainly one of the easier cake recipes I've come across. This may just become my chocolate cake staple. It was so simple.

Sausage Bowties with Artichokes

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
This was amazing! I completely forgot to pick up shallots, so I used half a vidalia onion instead. Those who did not use broccoli rabe...you missed out! Broccoli tastes nothing like rabe. I halved the amounts of pasta, rabe, and red pepper. I ended up only needing a splash of water at the end to moisten. I'll def be making this one again.

White Peach Sangria

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2009
delicious! I made a few changes, based on what I had in the house...used stoli raspberry instead of peach vodka. I used fresh raspberries instead of grapes. I've already made this a few times. Twas a big hit every time! I would def let it sit for at least 24 hrs. Otherwise it has too much of a wine taste to it. I threw a splash of 7-up before I served...I will be making this all summer :)

Very good. I wish that I had dried my shrimp a little better, maybe the sauce may have ended up a smidge more flavorful. Very good tasting!

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
Fabulous! I used fresh water Bluegill for this recipe. The batter would be better on a naturally thicker piece of fresh water fish like Pike or Walleye, which we will use next time. The sauce is a perfect complement. We ran out of tortillas and finished using the sauce on the fish. Makes a great tartar sauce on it's own. I admit, I was skeptical to try this recipe, but I'm sure glad I did. 5 stars!

Chicken with 40 Cloves of Garlic

This is a classic French dish. You will get the same affect if you use 20 cloves of garlic, cut in half. The smaller you make garlic, the more potent it becomes.
