Unbelievable Spinach Calzones

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
We did not care for this. if you use the new dough that says just to roll it out it was very very very difficult to do that. nobody like this.

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
It got one extra star because it was so easy. But I definitely smelled and tasted a hint of mustard so if I were to make it again I'd cut that in half. I halved the butter and doubled the lemon juice. I won't be making it again because the recipe for chicken Scampi II on this site is soo soo much better.

Baked Paprika-Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
Took to a picnic and it held up nicely. I served it cold and it was wonderful. I added about 3/4 teaspoon of garlic powder as suggested. I also used olive oil with a smidge of butter to brush on the top. Will make again.

Green Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
Excellent! We took this to a picnic. It held up well and was a nice, crisp veggie side dish. Used fresh or frozen veggies, no canned. Used red pepper instead of green. (No pimentos.) Replaced white vinegar with apple cider vinegar and used WAY less sugar. I actually used agave nectar to sweeten it and only used 2 tablespoons of it, or so. Will make often. So yummy!

Di's Delicious Deluxe Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
YUM! These got raves when I made them. I felt they could use a bit more hot sauce, to taste. Note: If you're not a celery fan than find another recipe. I thought the celery was a nice texture and flavor in this recipe, but it not like traditional deviled eggs.

VERY good... and very easy. What a great base for many different things... or just on it's own. Love it and thanks for sharing. YUM!

Indian Barbeque Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2008
I thought this recipe tasted fabulous. The flavors were fantastic. I did not have any meat tenderizer, but it didn't seem to need it. My only complaint was that the chicken was an unappetizing bright yellow color with blackened grilled stripes. I sprinked it with some paprika and chopped cilantro to try to pretty it up, to not much success. The taste made up for it though.

Mexican Rice III

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2008
Yummy! I had to modify it a bit because I did not have all the ingredients. I used brown basmati rice, an orange bell pepper, added a bit of cayenne instead of jalapenos, and used 2 cloves of minced garlic...And it still turned out fabulous! I will remake it again using the correct ingredients to compare. I can tell that the basic recipe is definately a keeper. I made it for eight people tonight included 4 kids under 8 years old and they all loved it.

Pork Chops with Blue Cheese Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
The pork chops were good but the gravy lacked taste. I used 1/2 cup of crumbles and couldn't even taste the blue cheese flavor. Maybe my calculations were off?

My husband enjoyed this but it wasn't great for me. I think I just like green beans sauteed in oil and nuts. thanks though!

Family's Creamed Spinach

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
I gave it 4 stars vs. 5 because I had to add a lot of cream to make them creamy. plus the onion stayed crispy and I cooked it awhile. I will either omit onion next time or saute them first. My husband loved it and I think it is a good recipe for company. thanks.

Cali's Sinful Creme Brulee

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
We skipped the chocolate part because we used a torch to brown the top and it wouldn't have heated the chocolate up to melt it. If we ever do it under the broiler I would do it. Very good and very easy. Make the night before and let sit in the fridge until you're ready to brown. Served w/ strawberries and blueberries in individual bowls. thanks!
