Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
Hands down the best chocolate chip recipe I've ever made. I do have to say though you have to make sure the butter is soft and not melted...it makes a HUGE difference. They get dry after 3 days though so try to eat them right away when they are just fantastic!

Waldorf Salad II

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
YUMMERS! I just made it for dinner tonight instead of veggies....I did NOT have the lemon juice but oddly don't even miss it. Followed the recipe and added golden raisins and I fell short on my mayo so it's not a "saucy" as I think I would have preferred but even with all that? 5 STARS BABY! Thanks...this super simple recipe is going in my recipe box.

I added 1 1/2 pounds cubed, cooked ham. I also added 2 tbs chopped, fresh parsley for some color. I would skip the salt.

I added 3 chopped green onions just because I had some leftover in the fridge. It was a good addition.

Awesome Bow Tie Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
This was very good. I love balsamic. I was making this as the main dish for dinner, so I added an 8oz package of cubed hard salami for some meat. I bet it would also be great with some cubed chicken breasts.

Very easy recipe and tasty. I would definately not serve this for a dinner party as it wasn't impressive in my opinion. It was an easy recipe and very convenient though making it worth it.

Apple Crisp II

I followed this recipe EXACTLY. I think it would be absolutely excellent without the water. There is no need for water as the apple crisp was soupy even the next day. Leave the water out and it will be great!

Oatmeal Banana Raisin Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
Well...they ARE good and Lord KNOWS how sick I am of banana bread. Gotta say...not "cookie" like...but for me they came out "cakey"...but GOOD! Don't get me wrong...A GREAT change from banana bread and I would make again. By the way I used REAL butter and golden raisins and 3 banana's in mine. **Am bumping from 4 to 5 STARS!** AFTER letting them sit overnight I would give these 20 stars! Gave some away to friends since this recipe makes so much and am still noshing on mine...these are even BETTER when they sit a day or two. SO....5 STARS! Like I said a GREAT change from banana bread and muffins! Next time I will try some crushed pineapple and nuts in these....just for kicks and giggles.

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
Unbelievably good! I too baked my squash in the oven first. I used butter instead of margarine, 2 cans of chicken broth and cut the cream cheese in half. I didn't bother getting out the blender and all of the parts, I simply used my immersion blender right in the pot. Next time I will cut down on the cream cheese a bit more or try reduced fat cream cheese. This is now one of my favorite soups recipes and will be great during my Michigan winters.

Supreme Strawberry Topping

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
Excellent! I doubled the recipe and used a little less sugar. When the berries were simmering I added a tablespoon of cornstarch (dissolved in 1/4 cold water) I didn't bother getting out the blender or my immersion blender. I waited until the berries cooled off a bit and stirred in the rest of the berries. I used a potato masher amd mashed them slightly. I also followed Naples instructions and added a bit of red food coloring and it looked fantastic! I served it on the side with Chantel's cheesecake and it was excellent. Thank you HEISLORD5 for an easy but elegant recipe.

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
My first real attempt at homemade bread and it was very good! I subbed sugar for the first 1/3 cup of honey since I didn't have enough. I split into 2 big loaves instead of 3 smaller ones. Bread came out pretty dense, but I like it that way. Perfect for French Toast tomorrow morning! :-)

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

Very good marinade. I used EVOO and I think it was a little too much olive flavor. Next time I'll use vegetable oil and probably cut it down to 3/4 of a cup. Otherwise, it was very tasty!

Zucchini-Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
These are so *GOOD*!! I made a few adjustments, but nothing major. I subbed 1/2 C of whole wheat flour for some of the AP, used 1/2 of the oil it called for and replaced the rest with unsweetened applesauce. I didn't have any lemon juice, so I used half the amount of white vinegar. Skipped the nuts (don't like 'em in my bread products) and used regular sized chocolate chips. I made a second batch with golden raisins instead of chocolate chips and they are really good too. My 2 year old (who's latest word is "fuffin") gobbled one up in record time and begged for another one. I will be making these again!!!

Easy Lemon-Blueberry Jam

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2009
I was so nervous to use this recipe but I followed it as stated except I did use the food processor on 3 c. blueberries otherwise it would've been whole blueberry jam. It is really runny like jello at first but it all works out in the end product. This is delicious!
