Layered Mint Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
i made this last year and everyone loved them. quick and easy and hard to mess up. I used white chocolate chips for the middle layer. I put the first and second layer in the freezer to chill faster. I layered the pan with foil which i lightly greased. No problems getting them out.

Bacon Water Chestnut Wraps

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
These are very good. I did make 2 changes to the recipe. First I used precooked bacon because I had read another recipe in a magazine that said to use it. The other change I made because I have some picky eaters at the party I made these for so I just put the sauce on the side. I really wish I would have put the sauce on top and baked them like that but they were still great!

This recipe is just like seeing an old friend. I have been making this for about 20 years. It was passed on to me by a friend. I think it is one of the most requested recipes I make. It is nice to know that even if I lost the card my recipe is safe here.

Gourmet Caramel Apples

I love this recipe but It is very time consuming and I tried to add mini m&m' s but that didn't work out at all they just slid right off. Also If you use a microwave the caramel hardens way to fast you really need to use a double boiler.

Twice-Baked Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
This is a good recipe but not great. I felt that it was missing something. I just read a few of the reviews and decided it was missing sour cream I really think that would have made this a GREAT recipe. I will make this recipe again and use some sour cream. I also think using different kinds of cheese such as pepper jack would give it a bit a kick.

Meatloaf Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
My boyfriend loved this recipe. I also enjoyed it very much considering I don't usually like meatloaf. I did make a few changes. I added green pepper and I used Swiss Cheese. I cooked it for and 1 hour and 15 mins. I did end up changing the temp of my oven since I've made meatloaf a few times and it doesn't cook on 350 degrees I put it on 375 then the last 10 mins I moved it up to 400 degrees. It turned out prefect!!

These were great. The only thing I would suggest is not to mince the onion just chop it up.

Creamy Italian Dressing I

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
I'm giving this 4 stars because the onion I had was very strong. I used a 1/2 a very small white onion and the taste was so over powering but I think I bought a very strong onion because I used the other 1/2 in the food I was making and that also had a really strong onion flavor. I cried while cutting the onion so bad I had to stop and walk outside. My boyfriends mother also walked outside because it was making her eyes water also. I plan to make this again and hope I get a good mild onion this time! Other then the problem with the onion everyone loved the dressing and asked me to make it again. p.s. can you give me a suggestion on how to pick out a good onion, I always buy the plain white onions and have never had any problems with them being so strong. Thanks

Sweet and Sour Kielbasa

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
This was a good recipe for a fast dinner. I read some of the reviews and followed what they said I used 2lbs Kielbasa and soy sauce and I added pineapple also. My 8 year old didn't like the Kielbasa and my boyfriend didn't like the pineapple but they loved the sauce. I thought the sauce was a bit sweet and salty not sour. There was a lot of sauce left over.

Apple-Cheddar Tossed Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
I served this last night and every single one of my guests went nuts over it. I barely got a serving myself, lol! I didn't use all the dressing, just tossed enough in till it looked right for my taste. I ended up sending the rest of the dressing home with one my friends who reacted as though I just gave her a Christmas gift.

Tastira (Tunisian Fried Peppers and Eggs)

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
This was very simple and filling. I had thought to alter the recipe and add fried diced potatoes but used the submitters suggestion of serving with a crusty bread instead. Very good, but I think I would like to try it with potatoes as well. Thanks!

Orange Herb Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
I have baked whole chickens before, but this was the best I have ever made. Differences: It took a little over 2 hours to bake, added marjoram, minced all herbs and placed under skin and in cavity. Really great! I usually stuff birds with a heavy combo of bread, egg, dried cherries, and turkey sausage but this was very light and made the chicken very moist. I will do this again, thank you.
