About me:
I'm a 21 year old house mom with a passion for baking. I'm my happiest covered in flour, watching someone try one of my creations... My only problem is letting them chew and swallow before asking "what do you think?"... I can't WAIT til my son's old enough to start eating solids. (He's 2 months old and breastfed.)

Balsamic-Glazed Salmon Fillets

Reviewed on Apr. 26, 2008 by Emily
Pretty good. The sauce thickened very quickly and became hard to spread, even on a low heat- next time, I would mix the liquids before putting them in the pan. I also liked the addition of lemon juice after it was done in the oven.

Finnish-American Flatbread

Reviewed on Apr. 2, 2008 by Mark
Looks like my wife's recipe for Finnish Rye Bread. I'm the Finn, not her but she bakes as if she were as Finnish as Heikki's pig. For this one she uses the water that unpeeled potatoes were boiled in, suitably cooled enough to not kill the yeast, of course. That's a trick my mother taught her. You wouldn't think that would add very much, but the potato starch really improves the texture and flavor.

Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed on Mar. 29, 2008 by bananatwin
This was a good recipe but I was expecting more of a toffee flavor, which I really didn't get. I'll either add more brickle or I'll chop up heath bars like suggested by other reviewers. I'm also going to try some espresso powder in the mix to see if I can evoke the same flavor as Ben and Jerry's Coffee Heath Bar Crunch.
