Amatriciana

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2008
Very good, I gave it 3 stars because this recipe would be very bland if made as is, though. I just made a few changes. I added twice as much bacon as the recipe called for, added 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp basil and 1 tsp oregono and I used tomato puree instead of stewed tomatoes (I hate chunky tomato sauce).

Fourteen Carat Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2008
I made this, and the whole cake was gone the same night. People couldn't believe how moist it was and how well it stayed together. The flavors are amazing. The only thing I would change, would be the take the pineapple out of the can and shred it a little more, I didn't like having a chunk of it my bite, but I like the subtile hint of it. I also added pecans instead of walnuts and used 2 cups of carrots.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
Fantastic pancakes! I took the other reviewers advice and only added 3/4 tsp of salt and added a tsp of vanilla. I also had some blueberries on hand so I added a half a cup of those. They were delicious!

Creamy Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
I am new to making my own dressing and was hesitant about this one since the ingredients sounded so basic but I was greatly surprised about how well it tasted. I used Lemon Juice and Mayo and it was great on a green salad with tomato, cuc, and Feta. Next time I will try and add some fresh or dry herbs to it. Note: Can not keep long in fridge b/c the dressing separates and turns clumpy beyond saving. Mine went bad in a week.

Grilled Lemon Herb Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2008
Excellent Pork Chops. I only had an hour to marinate but I followed the ingredient list exactly and they still turned out great. I did leave them on the grill too long so they were a little tough so be sure to watch that. I did not take the time to baste at all during cooking and again still tasted great.

Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2008
Great recipe. I did make a couple of changes. First let me say that I used half shitaki mushrooms and half regular mushrooms. I also added two cloves of minced garlic. It was FANTASTIC! I loved it.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2008
I thought this was way good, and my picky boyfriend liked it all right. May have been better if I hadn't experimented without reading other comments. Not sure if anyone else has said this, but mine came out thin when I used half & half. Next time I'll start the sauce by making a roux to help it thicken. Or hopefully the store won't be out of lowfat cream. I could fully imagine eating this every week, great flavors I thought.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2008
My family loved this recipe. I used low sodium soup as others suggested and it turned out wonderful. Next time I think I will try to make it with turkey burger instead of beef. Just to make it a little more healthy. Great gravy with it.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Great recipe. Couldn't find boneless so I used about 5lbs with bone in. Turned out fantastic. Also used a recipe for BBQ sauce that another reviewer had put on here.
