Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2006
So yummy! My first time making meat loaf, but with this recipe it will not be my last! I didn't have brown sugar so I used a few pinches of white sugar. I also added the topping in the meat by mistake, so I just squirted some ketchup on top to make it look pretty. I liked this recipe because it didn't call for the onion dip/or soup like the other ones I saw... I didn't have it! Oh yeah we ate meatloaf sandwiches the next day but I didn't know how to make them. (special sauce or something?) I just buttered some wheat bread and sliced up the meat about 1/2 an inch. They were very delicious but I wasn't sure if something else usually goes on them... any suggestions?

White Chip Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2006
Very tasty! They spread out a little more than I wanted and I used M&Ms instead of white chocolate (I couldn't find white chocoloate chips in any store in my city in Germany). I will be making these often!

Easy Beef Stroganoff

This was yummy with my own additions. 2 garlic cloves, double mushrooms and soy sauce. For the gravy I mixed powdered beef broth, brown gravy mix and the liquid from the mushroom cans along with more water.

Mother-in-Law's Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2006
My boyfriend loved the sauce! I am not a fan of pork, but no one eats chicken here in Germany because of this whole Bird Flu, so that is what we've been eating! I am not very good at cooking meat yet, so the pork was a little overcooked. I also was using a counter-top oven because my apartment doesn't have one!! (I live at a med student dorm at the hospital). The sauce was very yummy. I also added some Chinese hot sauce (the one that is dark orange and comes in a clear squeeze bottle with a neon green top)for some extra spice! I will make this again when I get home and have a normal oven!

Potato Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2005
I made these Thursday night & they were awesome. I didn't put in dill since I didn't have any. And thanks to the poster who suggested baking them in muffin cups rather than frying- they were WONDERFUL. I had canned salmon from costco that I used and they turned out fine. Will definately make again.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2005
My boyfriend LOVED this dish. The spices and flavor were just right. I made this a few months before our trip to New Orleans. We compared this recipe to the jambalaya at the resturants and this one was a lot better. There wasn't any shrimp in any of them-- only chicken and sausage! I also added crawfish. Just the tail meat- not the whole animal or the shell or anything. I found packaged tail meat in the frozen fish section at the grocery next to the shrimp. *Make sure you rinse the crawfish meat before you add it! Otherwise it tastes a bit like dirt. But it thickens the stew even more and adds more protein!
