Root Beer Float Cake I

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2008
I used a DH white cake mix, added Jello instant vanilla pudding and followed the recipe. For the glaze I used "Back to Basics snow cone root beer flavoring" to the XXXX sugar and it really adds zing.

Easy Baked Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
Absolutely Delicious meal. After baking chicken CB, I poured the remaining juice from baking dish into sauce pan and added white wine and simmered, then added 1/2 & 1/2 to thicken. I will make this one many times again. My husband loved it.

Artichoke and Crabmeat Triangles

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2008
Heads Up from a the Chef! My husband is a Chef and I am always looking for things that I can cook for HIM lol ... these were awesome, he agreed, and easy for me. I added a little organic turmeric for health which gave some spice and hit the broiler for some extra crunch but we both loved the muffin idea, it cooked right into them! Very nice!

Tiramisu Cheesecake

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2008
I served this to absolutely rave reviews from family and neighbors. They keep asking when I'll make it again. It was so easy to make and delicious to eat. On my list of favorites. The 2nd time I made this, I used graham cracker crumbs and added 2 TBSP Hershey's extra dark cocoa and the melted butter for the crust. Again, rave reviews! Tiramisu Cheesecake what fun! Ciao!!!

Corned Beef and Cabbage II

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2008
Great recipe. I used 2 cans of Swanson vegetable broth in place of same amt. of water. Served it St. Pat's day, 2008 to friends and they loved it. I also put the corned beef in the bottom of the slow-cooker and add veggies the last 2 hrs. I put in the cabbage the last 45 min of cooking and cook a total of 9 hrs. Try serving with horseradish sauce . . . MMMM! nanabest1@comcast.net

This is a good recipe for using up those veggies that are left in the refrig...I add some zucchini and squash and then just used Barilla tomatoe basil sauce and a table spoon red wine. Very quick and healthy! Thanks!

Corrigan's Minestrone

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
GREAT START, BUT...needed some adjustments to get to 5 Stars. Here is how I got to 5 Stars: Added 1/2 bag frozen chopped spinach, 1 can petite diced Italian tomatoes, 1 can pesto tomatoes paste (Contadina brand), 1/2 the recommended amount of dried spices, 5 cloves garlic, nixed the pasta, only 2 potatoes, 4 carrots 3 whole celery stalks (leaves and all!), 1 zucchini, 2 small yellow squash, 1 quart vegetable stock and 1 can chicken broth (no water!) 1 more can of regular tomatoe paste will likely make it 6 stars...NEXT TIME!!! Thanks for the recipe! PSST...don't forget the sprinkle of cheese!

Manhattan Style Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
I followed the recommendatiions of "Soupman" and it turned out PHENOMENAL!!! This recipe actually surpasses restaurant quality and remains healthy...HERE"S WHAT TO DO: 52 oz minced clams in juice and one extra smaller (4-6 oz) can for good measure, Italian petite diced tomatoes, Sauvignon Blanc(1/2 cup or so...), plenty of fresh thyme, a few pours of clam juice, and 6 slices crispy bacon chopped, THEN just follow the rest of the recipe. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! Put this all together and it's 5 STARS!!! Thanks to you and the Soupman!

Crab and Lobster Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
Only 4 stars, but I will be tweeking the recipe next time to make it a five. I found that the recipe needed more bread crumbs to soak up the liquid, but then lost some of the seafood flavor...I will definitely add the Old Bay Seasoning next time...likely that will elevate this recipe to a 5 star! Thanks...I will be making this again!

Shepherd's Pie Complete

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2007
I just used two jars of gravy and i think it was plenty. I this four may be too much for this. But it was a very nice way of sneaking in the veggies for a two year old who would rather not eat them. I used shredded cheese rather than slice and it was wonderful.
