Holiday Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
This stuff is awesome. I've usually don't like cranberry sauce, and I've never made my own before this, but it is truly wonderful. I made it exactly to the recipe and this will definitely become a holiday standard. Thanks for a great one.

Slow Cooker Sauerkraut and Sausage

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
This was so good. I'm usually not a big fan of sauerkraut, but this recipe changed my mind. I rinsed and drained the kraut before I added the brown sugar, and I used smoked sausage. I will definitely be making this again.

Tasty Tender Pork Tenderloin

I browned cubed pork and threw everything into the crockpot. Served it over brown rice. Very good. When I made it the second time, I shredded the meat and served on buns, the kids ate it all!

Butter Beef

I haven't made it in the crockpot yet, just do it on the stove. Cook the meat, deglaze the pan with butter and mix in the soup mix. I mix it into the noodles. Have made it several times for both my family and the one I work for and everyone keeps asking to have it again.

We LOVED this! Served it over brown rice with a salad. The girls I take care of cleaned their plates without a complaint.

This was soooooooo good. I used green peppers instead of red but other than that followed the recipe. The next time I make it I will slice my bread to be like French Bread Pizza as I think it will be easier to eat. Thanks for a great add to my box LMP!

Beef, Bean and Barley Stew

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2009
It's a good recipe - especially when you are down to a couple of carrots and potatoes in the frige. I did add a lot more herbs than it called for. I left out the caraway seeds and used Italian sausage instead of beef which gave it more of a Mediterranean taste.

Byrdhouse Easy Ginger Beef Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
These were very good. I had some issues with the how the meat turned out but I know it was my fault, not the recipes. It was way to "soupy" so I added cornstarch and served with rice. Will do things the way sunny described in her review above. Also, I will use green onion instead of regular.

Refreshing Watermelon Salad

Reviewed: May 30, 2009
This salad just wasn't for us. I scaled the recipe back since there are only 2 of us but followed it as written. The cilantro was too over powering and the Feta was over bearing. I'm wondering if using in season melo would make a difference? Also, I think mint or basil (as someone else suggested) would go better in this. Don't think I will be making it again.

Sesame Noodles

Reviewed: May 9, 2009
Made as written except halved and was not impressed at all. The sauce really had no flavor, it was an oily mess. Added some ground ginger and crushed red pepper so it was edible. I followed some other's suggestions and refrigerated to see if there was an improvment...nope.

Italian Chips

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
As written, the recipe is ok. Make sure to keep an eye on your first batch and time it; mine were burnt at 4 minutes. Also, there is a fine line between too doughy and burnt. Once I got the timing down, I added about 1/8tsp garlic powder and substitued the oregano with italian seasoning.

Pork Chops with Dill Pickle Marinade

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
I used 5 pork chops sliced off a tenderloin and added the pickle juice in when I froze the meat. When I cooked them, I pan fried in olive oil to brown on both sides then deglazed the pan with water. Placed all in a baking dish, baked at 350. My guests raved over it and couldn't believe that plain ole pickle juice gave such good flavor. They were the most tender chops I've had.

No Fry Crab Rangoon

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
I halved the recipe since there were only three of us. Also, I lined a mini cupcake pan with the wonton wrappers then filled them so they were like little cups. The filling was outstanding. I'm suprised I had enough because mu hubby kept stealing bites. Will make these again. I am only rating a 4 since I didn't make exactly as directed.

Real Welsh Rarebit

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
Very good recipe. I used all milk instead because we aren't beer drinkers. Also, I added red pepper flakes to my serving for extra kick. We served it over onion bagels for lunch and my hubby was surprised how good it was. Later that night, I warmed up the left overs (had to add a little more milk) and made cheese fries. We decided it would be a great late night snack. Will be adding it to our rotation.

Secret Burger Sauce

I used about 1/4 cup garlic mayo (left from another recipe) + 1/4 cup regular mayo. Other than that, I followed as written. So yummy! Hubby made a grilled ceese with it. Told me that it was a 10 star recipe and we needed to keep a batch in the fridge at all times!

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

This was a great recipe! I seasoned up the meat with garlic powder and montreal steak seasoning and let it set for a few hours. Also, I made up the mayo and let it set to really get the flavor through. Will be adding these to our menu rotation.
