Simple Time Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2008
tastier and moister than most pork chops I've had. The mayo/butter mixture & cheese make the dish.

Mom's Country Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
I finally tried this recipe. I didn't like how it was way too runny for my taste the first time around, so instead of oil..I used butter instead the second time. Some good things to add in to the gravy are to add sausage, bacon (chopped fine), green&red bell peppers (chopped fine), red onion, 2 hard-boiled eggs (chopped fine), velvetta cheese and spice it with oregano, black pepper and garlic powder (about a teaspoon each on the black pepper and oregano, and 2 tablespoonfuls of garlic powder does the trick, although I like a lot of garlic..so you may want to adjust it to your own taste). Also, double the amount of gravy you make if you add all the extra ingrediants...so that there is enough gravy to go with it over the biscuits. Overall it's a good easy recipe though...and it is nice to do on a Saturday or Sunday morning when you can get the family together for breakfast alot easier.

Tarragon Beef Stew with Vermouth

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
This stew has an amazing smell and taste to it!!! I did omit a good amount of liquids due to reading the prior reviews, which I think helped make this recipe a success. I will be making this again sometime in the near future.

Wiener Schnitzel

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2006
Very European, my dh is from Prague and this is a staple in our diet. To save on costs, I always purchase an entire pork loin roast, cut it in 3 portions and use for different meals. Veal is expensive. Take a piece of pork loin, slice and pound. It's just as good as veal. Also, if your taste is too bland (as others stated), make sure you take the pounded meat, dredge it in flour that is salted and peppered, dip in egg/milk misture (I salt/pepper it a bit too), and then dip in salted bread crumb mixture. Face it, a lot of the seasoning gets lost in the frying. Salting flour helps a ton and keep seasoning near the meat! We serve with authentic german potato salad, and bread on the side. I'm american and this reminds me of our breaded tenderloin, so I like to have it on bread with cheese and ketchup (but don't tell anybody!)

Honeyed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2006
FANTASTIC!!!! just two changes! hope this helps those who thought it was to sweet. I marinated chops in mixture for an hour. Instead of soy sauce I used Terriyaki sauce and I added minced garlic and basil to the mixture. i tried a piece when it was almost done and it seemed a little too sweet for my taste. I cooked some bacon and put half slice on top of each chop and baked for five minutes before taking out. The salt from the bacon made the chops less sweet. Served with back beans and saved the sauce from the baking dish for a quick lunch recipe tomorrow with chicken. Will add in routine dinner schedule! thanks! Oh and, I put the chops on the plate and then the beans over it, Chops werent that sweet... the blend of the beans and the sauce was very delicious!

Braided Easter Egg Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2006
It WAS good but for my family it tasted to close to regualar yeast bread to have a different flavor. It just tasted off. Not bad though. Very pretty, but next time I will just stick to homemade yaest bread.

I made this for a casual picninc/barbque and everyone did the full-mouth head nod and continued eating. Usually I get some yes and some no but this was an all around pretty good.
