Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
This was the perfect "stoup" recipe! (as Rachel Ray would say!) I added a bit more chicken breasts to make it a little thicker but other than that, I followed this recipe exactly and it was so good! I doubled the recipe thinking I could freeze some for a month or so from now and it made so much I ended up taking an entire batch to my in laws!!! It makes a lot!! (and I have big eaters!) Anyway, you will love this recipe and you could even swap out the shredded chicken for shredded beef! Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe that will be in my recipe book for years to come! Everyone raved about how yummy this was... perfect for a cool fall day or a cold winters night!!!

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
This is so good! I love the chocolate crust vs the regular crust! I actually didn't even follow the directions correctly... by accident! I cooked it for an hour and took it out of the oven rather than turning off the oven and letting it sit in the oven for another hour... so I took it out and let it cool comletely, then put it in the fridge... even though I didn't follow it exactly... it was still so good!

Sausage Gravy III

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2008
Since I've moved so far away from home I wanted to attempt to duplicate my mom's sausage gravy. This comes pretty close. She uses a greater quantity of sausage in her recipe, but it's probably for the best that I used exactly what the recipe says - it was so good I'd probably make it over and over and get sick of it. Also, don't make the same mistake I made, and store the tube of biscuits in the freezer. Oops. :D

Amazing Whole Wheat Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2008
For really being a novice cook, I have made this crust over and over because it's so good. I tried the 1/2 recipe for thin crust as directed, and it was phenomenal. I also swapped out the bleached flour and made the crust with only whole wheat flour. The thin crust didn't rise much, which was fine by me, and it cooked very well. AMAZING. That said, I'm an impatient dude and wish I didn't have to wait so long to make a pizza. An hour of wait time...after prep... I did prep the full recipe then freeze the second ball of dough and used it later, and everything remained fine.

I thought this recipe was great! My whole family even my picky 1 and 2 year old loved it. The only thing was I increased the garlic, and added basil too! I was very happy with this dish, and would be proud to serve it to my friends and family!!

Chocolate Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
OMG!! This was very good!! The first time I made as stated in the recipe. Then a week later (yeah its that good!) i made again only with a few alterations. Instead of margarine i used applesauce, I used 1 c. white sugar and 1 c. brown sugar. Then for the 1 c. chocolate chips and 1/2 c. cinnamon chips..WOW and i used reg. sour cream because that was all i had...then i made a cream cheese glaze for the top of it. Note: i baked in a bundt pan for 65-70 minutes. Came out great...EVERYONE loved it! In fact I'm making again for a get together tonight! Thanks a bunch!

Taco Dip I

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
Yum-o! This is the easiest and most delicious taco dip ever. It's always the first side item to go! Plus I don't like beans and this is the best recipe out there that I can find that doesn't use beans! I do cream (using a mixer) the cream cheese before adding any other ingredients. It does help. Thanks for a great recipe!

Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
These are really good brownies... I did, however, make them as recommended by a previous reviewer. I doubled the recipe, added 1/3 C. pb, used only 3 eggs, 1/3 C. less flour, and after the brownies were finished cooking, I placed several hershey bars on top... waited a few minutes then spread it over the top. It was really good. Thank you for the recipe!

Chinese Cabbage Salad I

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2008
I've made several variations of this salad, and this one was the best. I had so many compliments. The only change I made to this recipe was an idea I got from a previous reviewer, and that is: Before toasting the crushed noodles and cashews, spray them with spray butter and sprinkle the seasoning packet from the ramen noodles over top. It adds flavor and is an easy step to incorporate. Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe!

Zucchini Cornbread Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
I used 4 eggs and an extra 1/2c. corn meal miffin mix. I baked it at 375 for about 40 mins. Very moist. Very good. It kind of tastes like Long John Silver's hush puppies. Next time I might deep fry the dough to make fritters.

Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free!)

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2008
This was a great recipe, I actually made cupcakes and they turned out great! It suprised everyone that there was no flour in it! I actually didn't have any garbonzo beans but used white pinto beans and it tasted great. Dust the pan with cocoa powder for easy release! Will definitely keep my husband's birthday cakes, he's allergic to wheat!

Linguine with Asparagus, Bacon, and Arugula

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2008
I followed the recipe and thought it was good but not great. I will try it again but plan to make a few changes. Definitely use more garlic, add chicken and grated romano cheese to give it a little more flavor. The basic recipe is a good start though - just needs kicked up a bit.
