Butterscotch Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
I followed this recipe to tee except I just couldn't get the thought of butter rum out of my head so I added rum soaked raisins. This was the best bread pudding I have ever had. I added a dollup od whipped cream to the top and devoured it!!! Thank you for this recipe.

The recipe was simply fablous, and so was the buns! The measurements were perfect, the dough was easy to work with, and the outcome... OMG are they good. There is not enough stars to rate this recipe!!!

Yummy Pikelets

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
they were good. i used my homemade strawberry rhubarb jam and whipped cream. For me it was just a small heavy pancake. It was good. Nothing to write home about. I followed the recipe to the note. It just isn't fair to rate something unless you do!!! I did find that the thinner I made the batter, the better we liked them. I would make it again because they are just so easy.

Cream Cheese Candies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
I have had this same recipe for over 20 years. My kids beg me to make these very christmas! I roll them in small balls,, dip the balls in red and green sugar, then flatten with a fork. I read that some people had trouble with drying... try using food coloring paste instead of drops. the liquid is just enough to hamper drying time. Hope this helps.

Yummy! We ate this right after it came out of the oven. Baked it in a bundt pan. It was really moist and good. I added extra spices just because I like extra :)

Easy Vodka Sauce

This was a good sauce but not as good as I was hoping. Might use it again but will continue searching for one that is closer to tasting like the one my family loves. The sauce was easy to make and did taste good though!

Cranberry Cherry Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2008
This was a good pie but didn't wow me. I used a premade crust so to get the orange flavor incorporated I add orange oil to a beaten egg and did an egg wash on the crust before adding the cranberry and cherry. I also left out the raisins because it seemed like a weird combo to me :o) A good tasting pie!

Easy and yummy apple pie. It will definitely be my go to recipe when I want apple pie. Only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I added cinnamon and vanilla to the sugar mixture

Great flavor but too much meat for my preference. Next time I would only do 1/2 of the meat porportions.

Chococonut Chip Cookies

A soft and yummy cookie. Not a very strong coconut flavor in my opinion but my family and friends thought they were perfect. One made the comment that it was like eating a Mounds candy bar. Will make again and might toast the coconut before hand to see if it enhances the coconut flavor.

Seemed bland like it was missing something. It was better warm with some butter on it. Reminded me of coffee cake only with blueberries. Not sure if some spices would help or maybe some extra vanilla...needs something though.

Strawberry Pina Colada Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2008
This is a good, light tasting pie although not light on calories. Could easily be made with less calories though. The only problem I encountered was that it never set up like that pretty picture they have. I would think without the milk it would set up much easier. It fell apart as I was dishing it. I think making your own crust might help that since the store bought are pretty crumbly. Excellent flavor though and the strawberries and cool whip on top aren't needed unless you really want them :)

Strawberry/Rhubarb Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2008
This is only my second strawberry rhubarb pie so maybe it's the norm, but it was very soupy but very delcious! I used scottowels to sop up the liguid so the pie wouldn't get soggy. I'm sure there is a trick out there to fix this :) Didn't affect the flavor though and my Mom said she just licked up the liguid. She also said it was the absolute best pie she ever had. Lots of rave reviews....going to keep!!

Bacon Tomato Chowder

Reviewed: May 20, 2008
I make this chowder often but after I brown the bacon I save the grease and brown one small onion diced and also add to this one large can of tomato sauce and add apx 2T. sugar and crumble the bacon in the soup when I serve it. I use apx. 1 t. ham stock or 1/2 t. liquid smoke and top it off with cracked pepper and use milk instead of cream I don't need anything to thicken it and it's awsome
