Hot Ham and Cheese Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2007
Awesome sandwich and so easy to make. I like to add some mayo to make it a little more kid-friendly. But that's the only changes I make. One of my personal favorites.

Mountain Dew™ Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2007
My family enjoyed this cake, though my husband refused to believe there was Mountain Dew in it. I liked Michigan Mommy's idea of coloring the cake a 'Mountain Dew' green.

Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2007
I intended to use this icing for some frseh-baked cookies I made. The cookies only turned out so-so but this frosting was/is fantastic! I love the lemony- cheese cake like flavor given by the cream cheese in this recipe. I can't wait to try it on a freshly baked lemon cake!

A nice alternative to traditional Hot Chocolate. Try it with a chocolate flavored topping. Mmmmmmm!

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2007
I was a little afraid (especially after reading some of the reviews) that the chicken wouldn't brown and instead would be pasty white and clamy-tasting. But it browned beautifully. The chicken was moist and delicious and falling-off-the-bone good! This recipe is definitely a keeper.

Mock Lemon Chiffon Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2007
Not a bad cake, but my family wasn't 'overwhelmed' by it. I didn't have quite enough frosting so if I make this cake again I'll definitely double the frosting. I really liked the 'pudding in the mix' part. It made for a very moist cake. I think I'll try that with all of my cakes from now on.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
I add carrots and peas to this dish so it really isn't Beef Stroganoff anymore ...more like Beef Stew. But that's the way my husband likes it. This is one of his favorite meals.

Deep Dish Alfredo Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2007
My daughter and I both love pizza, so I make this almost three times a month. I admit I cheat on the dough and use the canned ones at the store. But I do prepare the alfredo sauce exactly as written. The sauce is so good it's worth the time and effort. I also play around with the toppings. Excellent pizza!

Quick Pizza Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2007
I ran out of dough while making these, so one of the sandwiches ended up open-faced. From now on I'll probably make square pizza sandwiches instead of the rectangular shaped ones. The rectangular ones are a little too large for a young child's appetite anyway. That's my only complaint though. These sandwiches are delicious! My three year old daughter loves 'em.

Gooey Butter Cake II

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2007
As the other reviewers stated ...this is more of a cookie bar then cake. I read some of the negative reviews about too much sugar, so I decided to use only one cup of sugar in the topping. That seemed to work well. A unique desert.

This is the best burger recipe I have tried so far. Burgers turn out very tender and juicy and will remain so even if you refrigerate any left overs for the next day. A family favorite!

Caramel Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2007
I hate to say it ...but I did find this cake to be a little on the dry side (and this was after I added a cup of mayonaise to the mix. Mayo is my secret weapon that usually gurantees a moist cake. Not in this case though.) It was also a bit salty. I am a novice cook so the fault could possibly be mine. Even so, I don't think I'll be making this particular cake again.

Chocolate Caramel Nut Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2007
This pie was okay I guesse. Neither I or my family were as impressed as most of the people who reviewed this recipe. I think it was because of the peanuts. I usually don't like peanuts in my pies. (Maybe I should have thought about that after reading the title chocolate caramel NUT pie, huh?) I'll probably make this pie again, subsituting Milkyway for the Snicker bars as another reviewer had done.

Cheese Biscuits I

Reviewed: May 12, 2007
The biscuits didn't turn out to well when I tried this recipe. There were very dense and hardly brown. But I DO NOT BLAME THE RECIPE for this at all. I'm a novice cook and am still learning. Will definitely try again.

Christmas Carol Punch

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2006
This was ok. I would suggest leaving out the lemon juice, as I thought it was a bit too tangy. I also had to strain the punch to get the cloves out, lest someone choke on one. Lastly, I made an adult version and added some good dark spiced rum to this and served it warmed in my crock pot. Think I'll make this again...

Moist and Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2006
Very Delicious! I decided to make these last minute so I was unable to chill the dough overnight. Instead, I stuck it in the freezer for 30 minutes and it worked just fine. I would highly recommend using parchment paper when baking the cookies. I also decided not to flatten them, and to add a hershey kiss to them upon taking them out of the oven. If you want to do this, you will need to bake the cookies slightly longer. I put the hershey kisses in the fridge for 10 minutes while the cookies were baking so they didn't melt when I added them to the freshly baked cookies. Overall a great recipe!
