We love to barbecue so much that we do it all year long. This recipe is one of my favorites because it has few ingredients and, since it doesn't need marinating, can be prepared for the grill in just minutes.

Marlene Harguth of Maynard, Minnesota fixes these family-pleasing patties that taste like individual meat loaves. Barbecue sauce brushed on top gives them fast flavor.

Chicken bouillon and Greek seasoning flavor this rich steak marinade. Great for roasting or grilling, try it on your favorite cut of meat.

Peanut Beef Stir-Fry

Submitted by: Rita Reifenstein

Peanut butter lends a subtle flavor to this easy beef dish shared by Rita Reifenstein of Evans City, Pennsylvania. Tip: 'For a change of pace, try ground beef. It's great within served over noodles,' she says.

'THESE BROWNIES were enjoyed by everyone at our family's Fourth of July picnic. Mama always said that they didn't need frosting because they were the richest brownies around! I think she was right.

'THIS IS an old recipe that I decided to improve upon--I thought the topping was too sweet, so I just left it off. I also took out the pecans that the recipe called for. Sometime, I'll make lemon corn muffins by substituting lemon peel if I don't happen to have any oranges on hand.'

My grandmother taught me to bake these breakfast buns 70 years ago. Now my granddaughter makes them! This batter is like a biscuit dough and can be made up in a short time. There's no nicer way to wake up in the morning than to the aromas of biscuits baking and coffee perking!

Mother's corn bread is a special treat she made often while I was growing up and still makes today. My grandmother came up with this recipe years ago. True to tradition, I serve it frequently to my own family.

Some time ago, when I was working at a newspaper, a co-worker happened to bring a meat pie for lunch. The aroma was familiar to me, and I asked for a taste. To my amazement, it was the same pie my grandmother used to serve when I was a youngster! I copied the recipe, and I have been enjoying French Meat Pie ever since. It's still delicious!

I first made this original recipe about 40 years ago, and it hasn't failed me yet. The thing I like about the dish is that it isn't plain. The flavorings dress up an 'ordinary' vegetable, and put some real zip in any meal! This is an easy, quick dish to make, and it adds a splash of color to your table.

Red Grape Salad

My mother-in-law shared this recipe with me 40 years ago. She served this salad at all holiday meals, and the tradition has continued in our family. Preparation is so much easier today, thanks to red grapes without seeds! Another 'updated' shortcut in the preparation is miniature marshmallows...cooks from the good old days know what 'sticky fun' it was to snip regular-sized marshmallows!

On Sundays, friends and neighbors would stop at my Auntie Rae and Uncle Gene's house. Auntie Rae never cooked on Sundays, so she'd make this coffee cake on Sunday evening, from her own special 'receipt', as she called it. The next day, she'd serve it from the warming closet of her cast-iron kitchen range.

Frozen hash browns and packaged shredded cheese shave minutes off preparation of this skillet breakfast from Elvira Brunnquell of Port Washington, Wisconsin. 'It's an appealing meal-in-one that you can do in about 30 minutes,' she notes.

'I like to fix this saucy dish when we have leftover ham,' informs Debbie Leininger of Carpenter, Wyoming. 'I often make it during wheat harvest. All our helpers really seem to enjoy it.'

This is a simple and quick dish and tastes great the next day. Might be good for picky eaters because it does not have a strong taste, but a subtle one. To reheat, add a large tablespoon of milk and microwave.

Mediterranean Made Rights (Loose Meat Sandwiches)

Submitted by: LARANEFF
Living In: Rockford, Illinois, USA
Where I live loose meat sandwiches are know as made rights, this is a Mediterranean take on this favorite. You can use tzatziki sauce (cucumber/yogurt sauce used on Gyros) in place of the feta sauce to give it a more gyro kind of touch.
