Roasted Chickpeas

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
I was really exicted to try these. I hadn't had chickpeas ever until about 8 months ago I tried them on a salad and their awesome. I had gotten an email from all recipes regarding this recipe and couldnt wait to try it. I looked at alot of the reviews and decided to bake at 300 for an hour as not to burn and they are a nice and toasty brown, but very chewing. I'm wondering if two tablespoons of olive oil is (two) much. If maybe thats why their not drying out well. I will try them one more time with less oil. I did pat dry, well and gently tossed the oil and spices (garlic salt, onion powder, seansoned salt, seasoned pepper, kosher salt and lemon pepper) together and placed on a nonstick foil lined cookie sheet, lo and slow, but not was I was hoping for.

Oil Pie Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2009
Not the best tasting crust I have ever made, but I would most certainly use it again because it's the easiest pie crust I've ever worked with. I followed the recipe exactly. I heard somewhere that if a recipe calls for 1 cup flour sifted, it means measure it first, then sift it. If it calls for 1 sifted cup flour, then sift it first, then measure. Pay attention to this and you should have no problems. I didn't, and it rolled out like a dream (between wax paper though)!

Red Velvet Cake III

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2009
Very good! I used sugar-free pudding mix (bought it out of habit), which may have thrown off the proportions, but it was still very good! Didn't make the frosting in the recipe- used Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting from this site. Added 3 tbsp of cocoa powder as per other reviews. I underestimated how much food coloring is needed to get it really red- mine wasn't as bright as it should've been.

Creamy Caramel Flan

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2009
Amazing! A little denser than the flan I've had, but that may have been because I let it mix too long. As the other reviewers said, don't worry if your carmel sauce is kind of chunky in the pan- it'll smooth out when it's in the oven.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

This recipe is amazing. I didn't change a thing. It's so close to the recipe I use, but the addition of the pudding mix holds the cookie together and keeps it really soft. So good!

I'm not going to try to say these aren't the best because wow! I was digging the explosion of flavor in my mouth when I was eating these! These cookies are like the ones you get at a bakery. I did not deviate from the recipe at all! Crispy edges, moist centers. Wow. Very good. Make sure you let them cool the whole time.

Slow Cooker Latin Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
Loved It!!!! Huge hit at our house. The changes I made were I used gold potatoes instead of sweet, since no one will eat sweet potatoes, & since I don't eat tomatoes, I used hot green salsa. I added in about 1 cup of frozen corn kernels about 45 minute before it was done & that worked really well. Will make again.

This was pretty tasty. I used tequila gold because I do not like silver, and Triple Sec in place of orange juice and Cointreau. And the olive, strangely enough, tasted really good in the drink!

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
This is a classic French Onion Soup recipe that I have used for years. The only change, being said by other also, is to carmelize the onions. Saute the onion on a very low heat for 45 minutes to an hour. Do not burn the onions. It adds so much more depth to the soup.

Pinto Bean Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2009
We enjoyed this, I made it for my husband's birthday. We had fun having him guess what the surprise ingrediant is. It came out a little dry, I would cook a little less next time. My changes were brown sugar instead of white, half craisins half regular raisins & chopped almonds. Topped with cool whip. It was nice to clean out some leftovers from the pantry & end up with such a good result!

This is EXCELLENT! I have made this many different ways, but my favorite way is with a tube of Jimmy Dean's spicy sausage instead of ground beef. It is very hearty and it is usually one of the first appetizers polished off in my home!

I love this recipe and so does everyone I make it for. My husband hates beans so I make it with green and red bell peppers and corn, and I make my own taco seasoning to be Gluten-free. Other than that this is awesome!

I make this recipe for everyone I know and they love it! The only thing I change is the flours so it is Gluten-free. I put in equal parts rice flour, tapioca starch, and corn starch. They are a little bit crumbly, but they taste just as good. Thanks for the recipe I love this one.
