Maple Apple Crisp

Very good, I really loved the flavor from the syrup. I forgot to add the oats, but it was still great. Used less butter too.

Boston Cream Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
This would be 5 stars except that I did not like the chocolate topping, it had a bitter tang to it. Also, I do not recommend underbaking the cheesecake, unless you want to risk getting food poisoning.

My Mom's Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
This was very good, but shave off the cooking time by 5-10 minutes. I cooked it a few minutes less and it was still a tad dry. I also used panko bread crumbs, and subbed sherry for the wine. Very good with rice! I just poured the butter over the chicken in the dish, and sprinkled the breading over.

Made this last night and it was really good! I would agree with the reviewer that it needs twice as much taco sauce than called for - will remember that next time. And there WILL be a next time! :)

A little too bland. Add a bit more of the vinegar and lemon juice it would be much better.

Dad's Oatmeal Cookies

The grapenuts kind of give these cookies a undesirable texture (hard), but the flavor is so good that they are getting 5 stars anyway!

Italian Chicken Bow Tie Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2009
I've been making this dish for about 20 years. I like to cut my boneless skinless chicken breast into small cubes and brown in olive oil that I sauted couple of cloves of minced garlic in, dash of salt/pepper. I used a large can of drained diced tomatoes that I marinate in a mix of olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt pepper, garlic powder, sugar and tarragon. Once chicken & noodles done mix all ingredients together, taste, adjust seasonings if need be and spoon in bowl and top with fresh grated ramano cheese. This recipe, 3, add some spices and marinate those tomatoes, 5!!!

Pepperoni Crisps

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
This is the ONLY way to eat pepperoni! I've been doing this for years. If you get all of the oil out of it it's crispy like bacon and better for you. But, you don't need to bake it in the oven, you can just put it in a microwave oven. Just heat the slices and check on them every 20 seconds or so. And, don't bother with the cajun seasoning. Holy salt Batman! Pepperoni is salty enough.

Black Bean Vegetable Soup

This was pretty good. only added 2 cups ck stock and was a good thickness. If made really thick it would make a good chip dip if mixed with cream cheese.

Roasted Chickpeas

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
I was really exicted to try these. I hadn't had chickpeas ever until about 8 months ago I tried them on a salad and their awesome. I had gotten an email from all recipes regarding this recipe and couldnt wait to try it. I looked at alot of the reviews and decided to bake at 300 for an hour as not to burn and they are a nice and toasty brown, but very chewing. I'm wondering if two tablespoons of olive oil is (two) much. If maybe thats why their not drying out well. I will try them one more time with less oil. I did pat dry, well and gently tossed the oil and spices (garlic salt, onion powder, seansoned salt, seasoned pepper, kosher salt and lemon pepper) together and placed on a nonstick foil lined cookie sheet, lo and slow, but not was I was hoping for.

Oil Pie Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2009
Not the best tasting crust I have ever made, but I would most certainly use it again because it's the easiest pie crust I've ever worked with. I followed the recipe exactly. I heard somewhere that if a recipe calls for 1 cup flour sifted, it means measure it first, then sift it. If it calls for 1 sifted cup flour, then sift it first, then measure. Pay attention to this and you should have no problems. I didn't, and it rolled out like a dream (between wax paper though)!

Red Velvet Cake III

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2009
Very good! I used sugar-free pudding mix (bought it out of habit), which may have thrown off the proportions, but it was still very good! Didn't make the frosting in the recipe- used Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting from this site. Added 3 tbsp of cocoa powder as per other reviews. I underestimated how much food coloring is needed to get it really red- mine wasn't as bright as it should've been.

Creamy Caramel Flan

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2009
Amazing! A little denser than the flan I've had, but that may have been because I let it mix too long. As the other reviewers said, don't worry if your carmel sauce is kind of chunky in the pan- it'll smooth out when it's in the oven.
