Marshmallow Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
I would rate this ZERO stars, but I had to pick at least 1....... I don't know what I did wrong!? I used 2 bags of micro Popcorn, 1 bag of mini marshmallows, and butter. I got a gooey mess that didn't want to form. I even tried to put into 9x13 pan, no luck! After 2 hours I tried popping another bag of corn thinking I had too much of the mix, that didn't work either. Disappointed due to all the great reviews!

Not as great as the classic chili and velveeta dip, but pretty good. A quick, cheap and easy appetizer.

Giant Ding Dong Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
I don't like to waste food so I made cupcakes instead of a big cake. Excellent! The filling is fantastic, and the glaze is very good. I made the glaze in the microwave, just heated all ingredients for one minute and stirred until smooth. Perfect!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
Excellent!! I used red potatoes and shallots instead of onions. I bought a 1.75lb roast and that was a good fit for the crock pot I used. I think you'd have to have an industrial size pot to do a 4lb roast. Still did 8 hours and it was fantastic!

Apple Cranberry Stuffed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
Took 35 minutes at 350 to reach temperature of 160 degrees. They weren't especially tough like other reviews said. However, I didn't think the stuffing was that good. Next time I think I'll just add dried cranberries to a normal stuffing recipe.

I'm sorry, but I thought this was terrible, and I love ginger! I recommend sticking with tea. I have a terrible sore throat today, and I couldn't finish the mug I poured myself.

Chicken Pot Pie III

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
This was wonderful! I added just a touch of thyme when I was cooking the chicken and that was a perfect amount. The crust was perfect. The only thing I would change next time is I would a add a few tablespoons of milk to the filling. I would have liked it just a tad creamier. Thanks for the recipe!!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
I read all the reviews and should have used Pillsbury Grands, but I forgot them, and used generic....still good, but will use Grands next time!! I used 1 can of cream of chicken soup, 1 can of cream of mushroom with garlic, turned out fantastic! I did not add any veggies, and won't we loved it just how it was. I tossed the chicken breast in frozen, and added extra pepper.

Chicken Poppy Seed Stir Fry

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
This is a very good recipe. Quick and easy to make when you don't feel like cooking or don't have much time to make dinner. I did think the seasoning needed a little bit of jazzing up, so I added a sprinkling of sugar and a few twists of lemon.

Chewy Rolo Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
I followed the directions, but still found this hard to spread into the pan, and "dollap" once I baked the first half. THe end result wasn't pretty looking at all, I actually made buttercream frosting to cover it up. I would have only rated a 2, but my husband really liked the rolo candy idea. If I ever make again I'll use an extra cake mix!

Slow Cooker BBQ Meatballs and Polish Sausage

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
This was not good at all!! The salsa and grape jelly makes a really foul taste, no BBQ here! I hadn't put the meatballs in the slow cooker yet, so I put them in the oven for 15mins, then added to slow cooker with a jar of pasta sauce instead. I browned the sausage in a pan and added to slowcooker, cooked on HIGH for 60mins. I was really hoping to salvage this and make a meal, but NO! The meatballs were very DRY...I don't think it had anything to do with me popping them in the oven either. When I'm in a hurry I use a Parm Meatball recipe that you bake, and they always turn out great. I would advise to just skip this recipe all together.

Baked Potato Soup III

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
Great Soup!! It makes a lot too, we had enough for 3 days, but it was just my husband & I eating it. I followed the advise of putting potatoes in the microwave,10 mins, then baked for 20 minutes. I did this while cooking bacon(a full package) and making up my roux, and potatoes where ready when I needed them. When making the roux, I used a little of the grease left over from bacon, added green onion, used salted butter, and added just a pinch of Italian seasoning. Left the skins on potatoes, and doubled the cheese. NEver added any extra salt, but did add a lot more pepper (just kept tasting it). Soup was really thick until sour cream was added, plus it was a great flavor too. *** Had to add about 2 cups of milk the next day to thin soup out for left overs, but it still tasted really good*** Will make again, thanks for the recipe!

Smoky Corn Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
These are very good; very moist even without sour cream and butter, which taste great but add way too much fat. I was out of liquid smoke (yikes! - a staple after being a veg for years) so I subbed a dry mesquite seasoning. I've never thought of adding salsa to corn bread (although I've added almost everything else)! This is my new healthier fave - thanks!

Breaded Hamburgers

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
I guess I really don't get this recipe, but it is good. I think the burgers tasted more like mini meatloafs. I sliced the onions large and set burgers on top, but they still fell....glad I used beef broth instead of water! I also made up some brown gravy to go along...it just isn't a regular meal for us, but it was good.

Potato and Cheese Frittata

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
I read through reviews before making, and followed the following tips: I cubed my potatoes, added bacon, 6 eggs, mushrooms,a few types of cheeses and used seasoning salt too. I am not a huge fan of eggs, but I was able to enjoy. My husband thought it was very good!
