Baked Mac and Cheese for One

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
This is my recipe so of course I have to give it 5 stars. I don't always add the worcestershire or the mustard, it's fine without it. And I've never had it be the least bit soupy. Make sure your sauce is good and thick before you add the cheese. Sometimes I use crushed crackers instead of the breadcrumbs.

Sweet Bacon Crackers

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
This is a really great recipe. Really simple and guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser. I used Ritz crackers IPO Club crackers. I have an electric oven that runs a little slow, so I baked these at 275 for an hour and a half. You need to bake these long and slow to really get the best results. I baked them on a jelly roll pan with aluminum foil laid out, no need to bake on a rack, I wanted the crackers to soak up the grease, that's what makes these good. Gone in NO time.

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
Now these are some excellent pancakes! I make my own buttemilk by added a tablespoon of vinegar to my milk, let it sit for at least 5 minutes, and you are good to go! I cooked my pancakes in clarified butter, so they were crispy and golden brown on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside. This is one of the best pancake recipes I've found on this site. They don't need syrup!

Nacho Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
This is the real deal. Now I don't have to spend major $$ at the ballpark or the movie theater to indulge in one of my favorite snacks, nachos with liquid cheese! I cut this recipe in half and used Velveeta IPO (in place of) cheese slices, about 4 oz I would say. I also added a few drops of yellow food coloring to make it look authentic. Lastly, I added a splash of pickled jalapeno juice.

Slow Cooker Sweet Potato Casserole

Delicious and so easy to make. I added some pumpkin pie spice, but other than that I stuck with the recipe. A big hit at our family Thanksgiving dinner. I will be making this again!

This taste good, but looks like canned dog food. I used savory herb stuffing mix & cream of mushroom soup w/garlic.

Steff's Shepherd Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
We really enjoyed this. I would have rated 5 stars, but I read thru the reviews and did add all the additional spices. Without adding these I think this may have been bland. I added onion, green pepper, garlic & pepper to ground beef when browning. I used cream of celery soup, peas & corn for veggies. Will make again

Juicy Two-Stage Thanksgiving Turkey Marinade

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
This did produce a tender turkey but I was sooo thirsty after eating it! And I tried to get off as much as the brine as I could. Also, the turkey picked up none of the flavor of the marinade whatsoever. I think Turkey Mercedes from this site is a comparable, and far superior recipe.

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
This was a good way to use up a pork shoulder roast I had. Very SWEET, I usually like my pulled pork more BBQ tasting. I read a lot of the reviews before making and only changed 1 thing upon recommendations. I used pineapple juice instead of broth, glad I did. I don't think I would have enjoyed the flavor with chicken broth. I think I'll make this maybe once or twice a year for a change in our routine recipes.

Pasta Margherita

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
Yes, this made a quick and easy dinner, but it was very bland. This dish needs some extra spices and veggies, etc. to liven it up! I don't regret buying this sauce to try, but I doubt I'd buy it again.
