Czechoslovakian Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
I made these because my husband's ancestors are Bohemian/Czech. These cookie bars are really better than I thought they would be. I didn't have strawberry jam, so I used blackberry jam. Very good!!!! ....................................... I am updating this review. I just made these with Solo apricot filling and they were awesome. I want to try with the Solo nut fillings next. I also forgot the vanilla and they were still good. Great recipe.

Spicy Maple Baked Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2008
We thought these beans were very tasty. I used bacon instead of ham. I forgot to put in the yellow mustard. They were still excellent. The maple syrup makes them very yummy.

Fantastic recipe, however, I did make a change. I didn't have Monterey Jack cheese, so I used sharp cheddar. I also used more than a pinch of freshly ground black pepper. This is a very yummy!!!!

Wonderful recipe, my husband and I both loved it. Has a natural sweetness due to the cooked carrots and fennel bulb. I made this recipe exactly as written.

Honey Cornbread

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
This cornbread is pretty good, although not the best. The flavor is good, however I found it somewhat dry and crumbly. The honey gives it a nice flavor.

Macadamia Nut Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
This is a very delicious cookie. I used bittersweet chips and omitted the vanilla chips, just personal preference. This is very similar to the original Toll House with the exception of a couple ingredients. The macadamia nuts make these very yummy.

Green Beans with Red Peppers

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
This is a very nice and colorful dish. I cooked the green beans in boiling water for about 7 minutes first to make sure they were tender. I used fresh purple basil, that I bought at the farmers market instead of dried basil. Very easy to make.

Triple Berry Crisp

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
This is a wonderful receipe. I made it with only blueberries and raspberries. I also put in a scant teaspoon of tapioca, so it would not be too runny, however I put a little to much. Will use less next time. I also used only 2 1/4 cup butter. The full amount would have been just fine. I also used only 1/2 of the white sugar in the berries, only because I do not like it too sweet. Everyone in my family thought it was an excellent dessert.

Cream Cheese Kolacky

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
Love these...have made them several times. My entire family loves them. The dough is a little difficult to handle, and must be done fairly quickly, but so worth it. Solo fillings are the best to use, and can be bought directly from their website. I bought 12 cans of different flavors, and it was less expensive than in the store. Also there are 13 different fruit and nut varieties. As others, said Solo does not get runny and the flavors are fantastic.

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: May 3, 2008
Reading reviews before I made these, I decided to also increase the flour and peanut butter by 1/2 cup each and also added 1 teaspoon vanilla. With these changes I am giving this a 5 star rating. Many were saying that they spread too much using the original recipe, so I didn't want to take a chance. These are a very good tasting peanut butter cookie.

Cranberry Orange Loaf

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2008
This bread is very nice. Fantastic flavor and texture. I has some leftover topping from (To Die For Blueberry Muffins) from this site, so I sprinkled it on top before I baked the bread, very good. I think I will try the orange glaze that some of the other reviewers have been using next time I make this.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2008
These blueberry muffins were excellent. I used frozen blueberries, that I picked last summer. I increased the amount of berries to 1 1/2 cups. There was enough topping for 2 or 3 batches of these. I was able to get 12 muffins, as I used a regular sized Pampered Chef muffin stone to bake them in.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
These cookies were very delicious. My husband and I really liked them, however my son thought they were a little dry. That's his opinion. I don't like raisins, so I made half of them with dried cherries, apricots and walnuts I used all butter and substituted ginger for the clove.

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2007
Scrumptious served with vanille wafers, graham sticks, lemon cookies, ginger snaps or any other, 'plain' cookie. I actually divided the end result in two and served it the first day at a wedding shower I hosted and the next day at a pot luck I attended. Be prepared to share the recipe with others. Children LOVED this! I did not roll the ball in chocolate chips or nuts. I just left it 'plain'. I didn't miss the extra chips.

Terrific recipe. I should have halved it though for the wedding shower I hosted for 25 women. I used organic seasonings I had dried myself. It made it truly yummy. I thought it was too salty.
