Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
I also made this with the suggestion of the 3 Tbsp of cornstarch. The pudding turned out perfect, I also tempered the egg/sugar/cornstarch mixture. I made meringe instead of the whip cream. Don't quite understand why the recipe calls to put the pie in the oven without the meringe

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2008
I had tried to prepare a meatloaf only once in my life before I found this recipe. I tried it and my husband about died! He said it's better than his mom's, which is a great compliment to me! She's a wonderful cook! Thanks for the great recipe. I'll be using this one for years to come!

Easy Apple Cinnamon Muffins

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
DELICIOUS!!! I changed the recipe a bit: all brown sugar, and 3 small apples. The batter was thick, so I thinned it out a little with more milk. The batter made 12 regular sized muffins. Very tasty.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2008
I've made these twice, the first time they were pretty good. But the second time they were flat as pancakes! I followed the recipe exactly last night. However, I don't thing I melted the butter all the way the first time I made them, just softened it in the micro.

Ukrainian Apple Cake (Yabluchnyk)

I used soy milk, and I sprinkled brown sugar on top of the cake before I place the apples on it. It was absolutely delicious! It was gone in less than a hour!

Kielbasa with Peppers and Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
I'd never heard of this recipe prior to a month ago, and already I've made it twice. The first time I made it exactly as specified. I did have a problem with the potatoes getting mashed a bit, so I turned the heat up to medium-high. From there on it was perfect! I had thought the food a bit too greasy, but I still ate 3 helpings! My two year old also ate plenty! The second time I made the dish, I decided not to use the oil, as some reviewers suggested. I felt, this time, that it was too dry and had more problems with sticking than the previous time. I did have better success with the potatoes not getting mushy because due to the higher temperature. I thought it needed a dash of salt when serving, but nothing else! This will definitely be a treasured recipe in our home. My only complaint: I eat toooo much of it! No dessert for a week!
