Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
Very nice. I used the sauce on 4 thighs and 1 lb fillet of salmon. I stuck the thighs in for about 15 mins and then added the salmon and finished the cooking time for about 20 more mins. We both liked the salmon better but I think it's because we are not big fans of chicken on the bone. Next time I will do this recipe on chicken breasts.

Creamy Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
My grandma used to make this frosting for my dad and called it "Pope's Frosting". We all love the fluffy, buttery flavor of it. It's a lot less sweet than your typical Buttercream one. This past time I made it I used caster sugar. I have never heard of it before moving out of the states but it's a british product and just means super fine sugar. It's nice so that you don't ever seen the granules in the frosting.

Crazy Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
I made 24 cupcakes with this recipe. I sifted all dry ingredients together and then combined wet ones. Slowly mixed with blender until it was well blended. Baked at 350 for 18 mins. It's a really nice chocolate cake...moist and a bit more dense than a box mix.

Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
There is no such thing as too much chocolate! The cinnamon adds a subtle twist, and the oatmeal makes it seem a tiny bit healthy. :) yum

Gypsy Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
Yum... loads of veggies and it tastes great too! I am not good at estimating how amounts of veggies translate into cups of ingredients, so I bought too much produce at the store. I learned from it though and hopefully this info will help others: 2 c. sweet potatoes = two smallish sweet potatoes; 2 c. onion = 1 yellow onion; 1/2 c. celery = 3 stalks; 1 c. tomato = 2 small tomatoes (the little ones that come on the vine); 3/4 c. gr. pepper = about 2/3 of a regular green pepper. Woo hoo!

Asian Beef with Snow Peas

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
I followed the recipe except for the rice wine. It's really hard to find ingredients like that in the country I live in so I substituted some dry red wine for it. I also threw in some baby corn and red pepper. It was a very basic, good stir-fry. Each guest was able to add thai chili sauce and other things to their individual plate according to their taste.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
This is a good cookie. I feel a little let down with all of the outstanding reviews it received. I actually packed my bags with instant pudding when on holiday this year just so I could make this recipe (pudding really hard to find in this country) and expected to be blown away. Enjoyed making and baking with my son but I think I'll continue to make my friend's crisco-based one. Thanks for sharing your recipe and glad that so many of you love it. :-)

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2008
Our entire family enjoyed this recipe. I make my own salsa (very hot) and so I didn't top the chicken that my boys at with it. My only critique is following the advice of others of putting chicken in a baggie and coating it with the taco seasoning. That made the chicken too salty with coating on all sides. We'll sprinkle it on as stated in the recipe. Thanks!

Pesto Pasta with Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
I have often made a different pesto/pasta/chicken recipe from this site and enjoyed it. I thought that I would try this out to compare. I think it beat out the competition because my husband went for seconds (he NEVER does) and my 3 & 5 year old both told me that it was very good. I followed the recipe for the most part except I added 4 chicken breasts instead of 2 and sauteed the garlic and chicken in 2 tbl of oil from the sundried tomatoes, not olive oil.

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2008
This was a decent chicken dish. Very easy and tasty. Nothing that I would rush to put on my menu for guests coming over...but nice for a family meal. I baked at 375 for 25 mins as suggested. I also cut the butter by half.

Mini Cheesecakes

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
This is such a quick, delicious and impressive looking dessert. I did not have the small muffin tins so I had to use regular size. I also used a typical graham, butter and powdered sugar mixture for the crust. I kept the baking time and temp the same and they turned out great. Topped some with cherries, others with Reese's peanut butter cup cut up and other with cherries garnished with flaked chocolate. Everyone loved them. Yield: 18 mini cheesecakes

Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2008
Oooh yum - this recipe is really easy and good. I recommend Rapunzel brand veggie bouillon (it's even vegan) - then you don't have to open a can and not use the whole thing. Also I added more sun-dried tomatoes because 12 wasn't very many, and I'll definitely put in more spinach next time too. YUM
