Cola Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2008
I've made bar-b-que sauce with cola before so thought this sounded interesting. I prefer a sweet sauerkraut and this was perfect after I added 1/4 cup brown sugar. To reduce salt, rinse the kraut several times and wring out excess moisture before preparing. To make this into a whole meal, add cut up potatoes and sliced smoked keilbasa while cooking. It was yummy!

Buttermilk Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2008
My first review of a recipe. Had to say how wonderful these muffins are. They are easy to make, and almost melt in your mouth. I got 11 out of the recipe. A bit smaller, but that's OK with me. Thanks for a good breakfast treat. Would like to know the nutritional facts, though.

Banana and Strawberry Smoothie

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2008
I'm sorry but the minute I read that the recipe called for food coloring I had to say something. A smoothie is a drink made with fruit so don't go and mess it up with something like that.

Sesame Shrimp Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2008
I set out to make this recipe from start to finish, but when I realized I didn't have cornstarch on hand, I just used a store-bought stir-fry sauce. The key each tasty bite is the shrimp marinade! I let my shrimp marinade for a couple hours, and they were the best part of the dish! Will make again, definitely!

Tiramisu Toffee Dessert

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2008
This recipe is always a hit! I make it often. Once, when I didn't have whipping cream on hand, a tub of cool whip worked to substitute. Quick and easy, and tastes wonderful!

French Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2007
This was good, very close to a recipe I lost. Doubled for a 2 layer cake and also added extra powder sugar, and no butter extract. This is a very rich frosting.

Zucchini Cornbread Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
This was very good as is and my wife loved it. I basically stuck to the original recipe, but added 1 small hot pepper diced into 1/8 inch squ peices to add some spice to it. Every 2nd or 3rd bite had a small surprize in it. We loved it. The second time, we also added ham to make a meal out of it. That was also very good. Thanks!

Better Than Sex Cake II

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
I love this cake! I use the whole can of milk and also put the carmel sauce in the microwave for a few secs, it makes it easier to pour out. This is a great cake to bring to a party or for co-works....you can put the cool-whip on once you get this, as to not make a mess in the car.

Peach Crisp III

This was very good! I added some frozen blueberries I had, which was great. Next time I will cut the butter down, it seemed a bit much for me. Looking forward to making it in the fall with fresh picked apples.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
This was my first attempt at making lasagna. It is the best lasagna I have ever had!! My mom, dad, and, I all agreed the lasagna was restaurant quality. It was like eating out at home!! Also, it tasted like an old family recipe. The only adjustment I made was cutting the salt in the sauce by half. I believe this is vital in making the lasagna taste perfect!!
