Pina Colada Cake III

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
i think the taste evaporated with the smell. while this was baking, the house smelled wonderful - coconut, rum, pineapple... delicious. when it was done and chilled though, it was just too bland. you could sometimes taste the rum, and the pineapple, but the coconut is no where to be tasted. (i could sprinkle it with shredded coconut, but we don't like packaged coconut. :()

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
I found this recipe early this morning and its cooking right now. It smells great and the chops are already tender after cooking almost 2 hrs! I had to adjust a little bit tho. I didn't have ginger or honey but I did use pancake syrup. I also added a handful of chopped onions & a splash of apple cider vinegar to the sauce. I did rub some season all to the chops and lightly coated them with seasoned flour to help thicken the sauce during cooking. Instead of a slowcooker, I put them in my dutch oven and cooked them on the stove on high heat to boil, then down to simmer a while. My husband and I sampled a taste and it tastes great! It's hard to get him to say something tastes 'good' and was surprised with his approval! Thanks for this recipe!!

I followed the directions exactly. Didn't care for it too much, I guess I was just expecting something a little different. Other people who tried it seemed to like it though.

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
The title says it all, this is the "perfect pumpkin pie". I made pumpkin pie last year using the pumpkin pie mix in a can and was very disappointed. This recipe however gave me hope and everyone who tried it loved it. This recipe is a keeper and I will be making it again and again years to come. The only additions I made to the recipe was that I added a tad bit more spices and added a teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Country Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
the raw batter was delicious, and so was the baked one... but i could feel the sweetness between my teeth with each bite i take. i made two batches. with and without nuts. i prefer the one without... and the raisins were very complimenting. -- update -- i made this again, and it tasted so different from the first ones i made. i used pumpkin pie mix in the can the first time, and pure pumpkin this time around. the second is nothing compared to the first.

good dinner! i got rave reviews- but i did as others did and doubled the sauce. i bought stirfry meat or already cut up meat in the grocery store to save time. i marinaded the meat with a lil soy and garlic for a couple of hours and added lots of pepper cause i like it spicy!

The Best Banana Bread

i've tried many banana bread recipes, and i think this is by far the dryest. i made another batch with bananas and pine-apple, the flavor was better, but there's something missing... and it was still dry.

i was expecting something firmer. the candy was moldable, but it was way too soft. it's so soft you don't even need to bite it, or even use your teeth to eat it. it tastes good, especially if you can get past the soft texture. but then again, i can only eat one.
