Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
Delicious! I made it as per the directions and it turned out wonderfully! Most and flavorful. I was a bit nervous about the beer, but the alcohol cooked out and the beer flavor complimented the heartiness of the meat.

Crispy Herb Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
I have been using a recipe pretty similar to this, except, I use Betty Crockers Roasted Garlic instant mashed potatoes, coat the chicken, melt and drizzle the butter over the chicken. It's already flavored and the butter over the pieces help from it sticking to the foil or the pan. My family loves it and so do the friends i've told about this recipe!

Great recipe! Next time I'm going to use more milk and flour as this was pretty meaty but the flavor is great. I added some pepper and herbs but otherwise kept to the recipe. Loved it!

Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
This is a great base for an amazing sauce. I made my own changes such as using twice as much garlic, adding celery with the garlic and onions, as well as adding some red wine and beer into the red sauce. Once I felt it cooked down I used my hand blender to smooth it out then added the butter and half and half instead of heavy cream. To finsih it off I added shavings of parmigiano reggiano. This recipe is a keeper!

Chocolate Eclair Dessert

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
I had never had this dessert until my stepmother made it for me a few yrs ago, I just made it for a class presentation and everyone loved it. The only difference is she uses french vanilla pudding mix and adds a little milk to the canned frosting to make it creamier and spreadable. I also crushed some of the graham crackers and sprinkled it on top of the frosting before serving it, may try some crushed walnuts on top next time!

Best Carolina BBQ Meat Sauce

Thanks for the recipe. I've been looking for an authentic SC style sauce. Helped me earn the title of King of the BBQ at my Motorcycle Club BBQ cook-off this year! My complements to it's creator.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
My fiancee' is on a low sodium diet so using box pancake mixes is no longer an option. I have been wanting to make pancakes from scratch and thought this would be an easy and yummy recipe. I added 1 teaspoon of vanilla to the mixture but kept the rest of the ingredients the same. This was super easy to make and although I did come across having the batter too thick, I just added more milk (another 1/2 or so) and it still turned out great. Next time I am going to make sure all my wet ingredients are room temperature to see if it makes a difference based on the same measurements. Very happy with this recipe though and it is definite keeper.

Better Than Sex Cake I

Followed the recipe and directions exactly as written. I had high expectations, with the name and all, but the cake wasn't as great as I hoped. I've had other cakes that I would consider better than sex.

Basil-Lime Sorbet

I was sceptical with the combination, but this was fantastic. I serve it after a spicy meal, and it is the perfect ender to a meal and cleanses the palate beautifully. I also experimented with rum for a beautiful mojito! This recipe is so good and so easy, and keeps in the freezer for a long time. Thank you for this creative idea!

Ube-Macapuno Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
I used ube powder instead of grated ube and added 1/4 cup more milk to the mixture because of it. The cake turned out great and it tasted good too. I didn't use the frosting included with this recipe, though. Thanks for the recipe.

Banana Flips

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
after 17 minutes in the oven, the cakes were still very battery. i had to go to the store so i told my husband to check it in 15 minutes. it was a little over baked but it gave a nice crisp on the sides. i was a little hesitant to make the filling... especially because it called for flour and there's no cooking it, but it turned out really great. i didn't add all the milk, i just kinda stopped on the consistency i preferred. it was really thick and separated the layers of the cake nicely. for something optional, i heated chocolate fudge and caramel as drizzles for my guests. they enjoyed it... even the ones that were very conscious about their weight and sugar intake. they all had a second serving.

Pina Colada Cake III

i think the taste evaporated with the smell. while this was baking, the house smelled wonderful - coconut, rum, pineapple... delicious. when it was done and chilled though, it was just too bland. you could sometimes taste the rum, and the pineapple, but the coconut is no where to be tasted. (i could sprinkle it with shredded coconut, but we don't like packaged coconut. :()

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
I found this recipe early this morning and its cooking right now. It smells great and the chops are already tender after cooking almost 2 hrs! I had to adjust a little bit tho. I didn't have ginger or honey but I did use pancake syrup. I also added a handful of chopped onions & a splash of apple cider vinegar to the sauce. I did rub some season all to the chops and lightly coated them with seasoned flour to help thicken the sauce during cooking. Instead of a slowcooker, I put them in my dutch oven and cooked them on the stove on high heat to boil, then down to simmer a while. My husband and I sampled a taste and it tastes great! It's hard to get him to say something tastes 'good' and was surprised with his approval! Thanks for this recipe!!
