Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2009
In flavor, they are good, but I did not like the fact that they were so thin (I rolled them pencil thin) and maybe it was my oven, but they were hard to bake because they either came out looking uncooked and on the soft side or crunchy and a bit too browned. They did not taste bad, but I would not make these again.

Waffles II

These were good, though I felt they needed more flavor so I used only butter and added some sugar to the mix. It was good. Not great, however.

Virgina's Tuna Salad

This is good, however I didn´t have mayo so I subbed with 1 Tbsp light ranch dressing and 1 Tbsp sour cream. Also, I like to add onion to my tuna.

Cake Mix Cookies IV

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
I decided to make these after reading all the rave reviews and I gotta tell you, you must make these! They´re cheap and done very quickly and they´re delicious! I used betty crocker super moist devils food cake mix and wow! I tried different baking times and in my oven, 4 or 5 mins tops is the key to soft, chewy cookies. I left a batch for 7 or 8 mins and they were crispy, but still good. Fantastic idea, so versatile!

Spinach and Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
I made a combination of the original recipe with the recommendations of others and a little extra of my own and it turned out pretty tasty. I made the pasta and drained it. Added a tweak of butter and set aside. On a frying pan I put some oil and sauteed some onion with 3 tbsp of red pepper flakes, then I added the garlic and then the chopped fresh spinach and since I wanted it to have some ¨body¨ I added about 1/4 cup milk to steam the spinach and a dollop of sour cream. At last, I roughly chopped fresh tomatoes and added them to the mixture. Boiled for 2 mins and voilá! It looked yummy and didn´t dissapoint, I served with garlic bread. I would make this again.

Argentine Meat Empanadas

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
This recipe was fantastic, even better than I had hoped. I made slight changes though: first of all, I had to double the amount of cumin and I used 3 tbsp of red pepper flakes (I used the ones that come with pizza) I had just a few chopped olives and I dumped the vinegar they come in along with a tbsp chopped jalapeño and a bit of the its vinegar. There is a person who said cumin is not in the original recipe, well it is. Paprika, however, is not. So I didn´t use any, believe me, I didn´t need it! The boiled egg sounded odd, but considering it is an original ingredient, I added it. It went well with the other flavors. I already had some flaky crust handy, so I used it. They were great, will make often and perfect for special ocassions!

Onion Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
I made this last night as a side dish to argentinian empanadas. It was good, though I´m not sure I´ll add the pepper next time I make it. Make sure your family LOVES onion if you make this. I do, so I liked it pretty well!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

This is a great basic recipe for sugar cookies. I added cinnamon for an extra kick and doubled the vanilla extract. They do cook fast and are a bit sticky. Next time I will definitely make them a little thicker.
