A mixture of spices that approximates what you might buy in a package. Depending on how spicy you and your family like your dishes, use as little or as much as you want.

Homemade Crispy Seasoned French Fries

My family loves French fries and with 4 children the bag fries from the store just weren't enough and became too expensive. So I tried batter - after all it makes chicken, shrimp, and onion rings crispy so why not potatoes. Now even my husband can't get enough of these French fries. They even stay crispy when you reheat in the microwave.

This recipe - flank steak and vegetables cooked in a mixture of soy sauce, honey, and red wine vinegar - makes a great meal served over rice.

Yummy miniature meatballs in a chipotle tomato sauce. I have been serving these for years at various events and never take leftovers home. They are easy to prepare and freeze well for pre-planning.

This is a dish that will make your tongue jump out of your mouth, slap you in the face, and say 'Oh yeah'. Put meat and maybe some Pico De Gallo or salsa into warm tortillas to make tacos.

Southwestern flavors blend with spicy mustard for a zippy alternative to deep-fried fries. Feel free to increase the cayenne, red pepper, and chili powder if you like them spicier. You won't want to let the ketchup bottle near the table!

This is a bit unorthodox, but the end result is moist, flavorful and amazing. All you'll need is some chicken, butter, beer, and seasonings.

No Roll Pie Crust I

This is a no roll, press in the pan crust, made with oil instead of shortening. It is very good and very easy. A good choice for when a top crust isn't necessary. Vegetable oil may be used instead of peanut oil.

Red, White, and Blueberry Cheesecake Pie

Sheets of phyllo dough are buttered and stacked, cut into a large circle, and pressed into a 9-inch pie tin. A wonderful blueberry cheesecake filling is spooned in, and then the pie is baked, brushed with strawberry jelly, and decorated with blueberries in a star pattern.

Sour cream gives enough tangy bite to take the edge off this banana bread 's sweetness. Dusting the baking pans with cinnamon sugar gives these small four loaves a gentle spice undertone.

Sweetened peaches are piled into a baking pan, sprinkled with cinnamon, and topped with yellow cake mix. Cubes of cream cheese and butter are then added, and the cobbler is baked until golden and bubbly.

It's amazing how only four ingredients can taste so sensational - honey, mayonnaise, lemon juice and mustard. Whip it up just before serving, and try it with chicken salad.

Chicken first simmers in tomatoes, chile peppers and creamy soup to seal in the flavors, gets wrapped in tortillas, and then bakes in that same stew. Top with enchilada sauce and Cheddar. You'll need to marinate the chicken in your favorite marinade before cooking begins!

Lasagna noodles are baked with an earthy blend of beef, refried beans, oregano, cumin and garlic, with salsa spooned over. Topped with sour cream, green onions, olives and Pepper Jack cheese, the casserole gets one more brief baking to melt the cheese.

If you like pumpkin pie and chocolate, you'll love these cookies. I think they taste best when they are cold from the refrigerator.
