I followed the recipe exactly and I can't imagine that it could be any better. I placed three each on individual, long narrow plates, poured over the jus and served with a slice of rough torn french bread from the oven. It was simple perfection.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
As if this recipe needs another review!! I made this for halloween in a Bundt Pan which required about 1ht 10mins cooking time. I put this glaze over it: 1 cup of confectioners sugar, 2 Tbs melted butter, 5 tsp of milk, 1/8 tsp vanilla extract, 1/8 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 tsp allspice. It was delicious!!

Blue Cheese Fettucine

hi, i submitted this recipe, and i've just realised that it's been misprinted! it should have 2 large zucchini's in there, not 1! and i use courgette's here in northern europe which tend to be much bigger than the zucchini's i've ever found in southern european countries or abroad. hope this was of help! :)

Old-Fashioned Lemonade

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
Tried and true, awesome old-fashioned lemonade. Does exactly what it says on the tin, so to speak. Thanks for sharing, it's the best thing ever on a hot summer day! I ended up using seven lemons rather than six just for personal preference.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
I was really expecting something out of this world as per the hundreds of five star reviews, but we were pretty disappointed as these were just 'nice' but not spectacular. It amounts to fried chicken with a spicy sauce, but it did not taste like the famous ones at all. I followed the recipe exactly so I'm not sure why this is so, except that perhaps using the ''Frank's Hot Sauce'' makes all the difference in the world, in which case it should be listed in the original recipe. As two other reviewers noted, however, this recipe is *not* what buffalo wings are, so the name is misleading. They were pretty good but not worthy of five stars, sorry.

Grilled Cilantro Salmon

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
i've been looking for a marinade for salmon for a while that'd make me go 'ooooooooh!' and this was finally it! i discovered at the last minute that i had less honey in house than i thought, so i ended up using less than called for in the recipe. plus i took the advice of some other reviewers and increased the garlic. i left it sit in the fridge for a good hour before baking it in the oven for 18 mins (basting it now and then with the marinade) and grilling it for 2 mins to crisp up the top a bit. absolutely delicious! i'll be using this regularly. definitely a recipe that you'd be proud to serve to guests. :)

This was delicious--a great combination of flavours that worked so well together. I had all of the ingredients on hand as I really enjoy salads and veggies--and it only took minutes to put it together. Followed the recipe exactly and wouldn't change a thing.

Chile Pork

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
This is very tasty. Make sure you cover the dish/pot and its like it becomes steamed in the porks own juices. It gets tender if you cook it for a long time on a low heat. I added a teaspoon of oil, sealed it with a lid and cooked it for 1 hour at 150C-it would be a lot more tender I would say if cooked at 120C for 1.5 to 2 hours. Im definitely making it again!

Smoked Salmon Pesto Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2008
the idea of smoked salmon and pesto totally intrigued me, so i had to give it a go. first time we made it as printed with the exception of doubling the amount of salmon, tasted it, and decided to add a sprinkling of lemon juice and a couple of dashes of tabasco. That helped a lot, but 2nd time round we also replaced the water with white wine, and that turned out to be the prefect combination. will definitely be making again. :)

Chunky Tomato Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
we enjoyed this, but it definitely needs a bit of tweaking. i love stew type soups, but this was really stodgy! i scaled it down for 4, which required half a can of tomatoes, but i ended up chucking in the lot. i might omit the cornstarch next time and see if that helps. i also threw in a handful of elbow macaroni. next day when reheating it, i added some white wine and some water to it to give it a bit more liquid consistancy, and added some lemon juice and it made a world of difference. i served it sprinkled with grated cheese. think i'll add some red bell pepper next time for a slightly fruitier taste too.

Pineapple Bread Pudding

This was delicious! I could not get crushed pineapple so I drained a can of chunks and put them in the blender to "crush" them. I had to cook it for longer and I increased the temp to 400*F for that extra 10 mins and I left it uncovered for the extra 10 mins too!!!

Sirloin Steak with Garlic Butter

Reviewed: May 12, 2008
The weather was just too good - I had to dust down the barbecue and start cooking on it again! Glad i did - these were a great start. I don't like to marinade my steaks so the garlic butter just added flavour without ruining the meat.
