Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
This is the best alfredo sauce ever. I think I used a bit too much cheese and need to reduce it next time, but it was great and even the kids liked it. Far superior to jar sauces.

Sorry, but I tried this recipe twice. Both times it was a disaster? Really don't know what to say when so many people give it good reviews.

Grilled Beer Chicken

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
I don't have a BBQ so I put the whole chicken with the 1/2 the butter/beer mixture in my slow cooker. After about 6 hours I took off the lid and transferred it to the oven to crisp the skin. IT WAS DELICIOUS. Next time I may try another reviewers suggestion of a brown sugar/chilli mixture just to mix up the flavours a bit.

Smothered Mexican Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
This is a nice change from an Italian lasagne. Lighter and spicier using turkey mince it is also good cold. I would recommend serving some Doritos or other corn snacks with the salsa though to provide some alternative texture. Crusty bread is also good. Altogether, a 'keeper'.

3/23/09 UPDATE: My family are very picky as I have stated before, yesterday my husband asked me to make this meatloaf and ate about half of it!!!! This is truly a great recipe. ----------------------------------------- I made this for my family of picky eaters and my husband said it was a keeper, and the next time we were having or going to a party to make it for that.

Soft Giant Pretzels

WOW- my husband is from Chicago and loves the taste of these pretzels. I have to perfect their shape and rolling but if you can get by what they look like, they taste great, we used melted butter and salt and of course mustard. Would also be great with nacho/spicy cheese.

White Bread For The Bread Machine

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
I have not made bread at home for a long time because the last few times I did, even with following recipes to the 'T' the bread did not come out looking good or tasting good, UNTIL YESTERDAY! I am now hooked again on homemade bread, this bread taste just like a french bread, light, airy and great, having to make another today the first is almost gone.

Asparagus and Mushroom Puff Pastry Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
This recipe is awesome! The only change I made was to roast the aspagargus (I love roasted asparagus, and I was able to cut out half the butter!)before adding it to the sauteed mushrooms. The second time I made this, I got sidetracked and burnt the asparagus, so I ended up sauteeing the mushrooms with a leek I had on hand, adding some garlic, and then switching the hollandaise for a packet of mushroom/pepper gravy for steak. Added a little stilton on top and ended up w/a totally different (but incredible) meal--Bottom line, you can't screw this one up! Thanks for a great recipe! (Even when it's totally changed! lol)

Vegetarian Tortilla Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
Oh. My. Gosh. and Holy Cow, too!! I only made this b/c of all the great reviews, so in case there's someone else out there like me, I thought I'd better add another! This was SO good, and (for once) I followed the recipe exactly. (Well, I planned to, until I realized I had tortilla chips, not corn tortillas.) That being said, I added the chips and cheddar cheese at the end, and it was better than the Tortilla Soup they served at Chili's when I worked there. Thank you so much for this recipe. This will DEF become my new favorite "comfort food!" BTW, it would be just as good w/o the "chicken."
