This is my favorite, very simple, recipe for savory scones. They are wonderful served hot, spread with a little butter, and eaten alongside a steamy hot soup. It's important not to over handle these scones, as they will be heavy and tough.

Pay a visit to your favorite farm stand so that you can make this luscious cobbler. The milky vanilla-flavored batter goes into a buttered 9x13-inch pan, fruit is spooned on top, and the cobbler is slipped into the oven to bake for an hour. 

Roast Chicken with Cracked Peppercorn Sauce

A whole chicken is roasted, and served with a creamy peppercorn sauce. Use the bottom of a heavy skillet to crack whole peppercorns, or you may find cracked ones at the supermarket.
