Cornwall, England

Due to its coastal location, fish and shellfish are especially plentiful here. A traditional recipe, aptly named Stargazy Pie, involved baking whole pilchards with their heads (eyes intact) poking up through the top of the pastry.

About me:
I am mum to two teenage girls one of whom wont eat anything green apart from peas and the other has been a committed vegetarian for 6 years.I also have a husband who thinks he hasn't been fed properly if there's no meat on his plate so a few cooking challenges there. I love cooking but wouldn't say I'm a natural cook I have to have a recipe in front of me. Recently I have become a little more experimental and stray a bit more from the original recipe.

Lemon Herb Lamb Chops

This made a tasty midweek meal and was quick to prepare. I marinated the chops overnight and fried them instead of broiling. I will no doubt make this again. Thankyou Mildred.

Chocolate Shortbread

Reviewed on Dec. 1, 2009 by KEZ
I am a huge shortbread fan, but I've never made chocolate shortbread before. Like all shortbread doughs this one took a bit of work to come together. About 10 minutes of vigorous mixing for me. The end result is worth all the work, melt in your mouth and just the right amount of chocolate flavour. Thanks for the workout and a good recipe Sarah.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Good, I added some garlic powder, next time I'd probably add a minced clove of garlic. It was good, it just seemed to be missing something on the seasoning side.
