Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
This recipe is so good, I'm making it for Valentine's Day. Last time it got a very enthusiastic response from my boyfriend. I did not deviate from the recipe except to add in fresh mushrooms and lots of black pepper. Great comfort food!

Great results! I would double the sauce/filling as others suggested. I made this for guests and they all enjoyed it very much.

Spaghetti ala Bolognese

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
Very good and easy to make! I made the recipe as is (without the sausage) but I might try some suggestions from the other reviewers. It doesn't have an overly "Italian" taste but it's very savory and sure to please most palates.

Great recipe! I served it over rice pilaf with a vegetable and it was amazing. I'll definitely cook this one again.

Cheesy Macaroni and Beef Casserole with Thyme

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2007
The three star rating was really my own doing. I think I would try this again because I do like beef and noodles together. When I was mixing it together it did seem dry so I panicked and used cream of mushroom soup and that just made it taste like nothing but cream of mushroom soup. :( I think I would substitute the cherry tomatoes for sundried tomatoes and see how that goes. Could be a good recipe but my tinkering made it hard to tell.

Great recipe! Like many I tried this because my partner doesn't like tuna. Very good with Cheddar cheese and cream of mushroom soup as well.

Oven Stew II

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2007
Great recipe - thanks Jo! I used this as a starting point but I browned the beef ahead of time. Also substitued beef boulion instead of french onion soup (I'm an American in the UK and it's difficult to find certain ingrediants). I added a dash of red wine, parseley, 2 bay leaves and garlic powder, then stuck it all in the oven for 2 1/2 hours. Turned out amazing and was extremely easy to make!

Tasty Lentil Tacos

Reviewed: May 22, 2007
For an easier way to make this recipe try using 1 can of lentils instead of dry lentils and use a package of taco seasoning with 1 cup water instead of seasonings and broth. This makes a quicker easier meal and also makes sure the meal is vegetarian :)

Boston Cream Pie II

Reviewed: May 13, 2007
I have tried so many recipes off this site and always ben pleased even though I may have had to weak things to my taste....however, this was the WORST cake I have ever had. I can't find one redeeming point about this recipe. The cake is very bland and very heavy and dense. The custard also has no taste and was very difficult to set. I had to add another egg and used Irish Cream to flavor the custard to make it nice. The chocolate glaze is entirely too much, cut down the chocolate a bit or better yet, use the Caroline's Fudge Frosting recipe. All in all, when one has to change a recipe so much that you are combing three different recipes, you can no longer rate it as good. I've never given any recipe bad reviews but this one just needs so much more work.

Banana Cream Pie with Chocolate Lining

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2007
It was a really good recipe, the filling didn't look all too appetising so i just used extra banana and maybe a half of the filling. I also didn't use whiskey only because I didn't take my I.D with me to the shop XD! It was nice, couldn't find anywhere that sells grahm crackers so I used digestives instead, it was nice. And the shop close to my house didn't carry bittersweet chocolate so I used cooking milk chocolate which proved to be super nice! The only reason this recipe only got three stars is because I grew up loving banana cream pie that my grandpa made and this..even though it was nice, didn't compare very well. Sorry. Might make again.

Restaurant Style Lasagna

Absolutely the best lasagna i've ever tasted! Far better than what my parents used to make XD I cut the recipe in half because it was only two of us eating it, but in half still made too much but its all gone! I alsomade 4 layers instead of three and only used two cans of spaghetti sauce. Thank You so much! if I could give 10 stars I would!

This was surprisingly easy and really tasty. I was skeptical at first because I'm not a big fan of lentils - my husband wasn't sure when he saw me cooking it. But we both thought it was great and my husband ate all of the leftovers too!
