Czech Republic

Located in the heart of Europe, the Czech Republic officially separated from Slovakia on New Year’s Day 1993. Its Capital city, Prague, has long held a reputation as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Czech beer is renowned by beer drinkers everywhere. The Czech city of Plzen became important in the history of beer when the Plzensky Prazdroj (Pilsner Urquell) brewery poured the first glass of a new style of lager in 1842, inspiring other brewers to design their own version of pilsner. No wonder the Czech Republic has the highest per-capita rate of beer consumption in the world at over 160 liters of beer annually per citizen! The typical Czech meal consists mainly of roasted pork or beef, served with potatoes, rice, or the traditional bread or potato dumplings. Goulash and potato pancakes show an Austro-Hungarian influence.

About me: I really enjoy cooking, especially baking, I don't have that much time for it though, so I don't cook too often. But I'd like to do it more. :)

Disappearing Marshmallow Brownies

These were really tasty!! I didn't make them with butterscotch chips, because I can't get them here (in Czech Republic), but it still turned out really well! Thank you for this great recipe! Looking forward to making it again! :)

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies I

Reviewed on Oct. 10, 2008 by Marketa
This was my first time to make Oatmeal cookies and they turned out really well. The dough seemed a bit too sticky, so I'd maybe add some more flour next time. I took the second batch out of the oven a little earlier, so that the cookies are more moist. I would also put less sugar in them. Other than that, they were great! Everyone loved them and they were gone really quckly! Thanks for the recipe!

Orange Glorious I

Reviewed on Jun. 1, 2008 by Lauren N.
Mmmmmmmm! So easy and fast, and just as good as the kind I used to get in the mall when I was a kid. My husband is very picky about his smoothies, and he loved it too.
