Linguine Pasta with Shrimp and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
This was exactly what I was looking for! I wanted to use a spinach linguini pasta from trader joes, so I posted request to find a recipe that would go with the pasta. Thank you Cindy in Pensacola for recommending your great recipe!

Roquefort Pear Salad

I made this salad last night for a party, and I think like half of my guests said it was the highlight of the dinner, because they have never tried a salad with this great variety and it's still so great!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
This lasagna was delicious! Served it for a party and everyone raved about it. People couldn't believe that it was home-made, definitely restaurant status. The only change I would make is to reduce the sodium a little bit, but otherwise it's perfect for company!

Pecan Squares Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Absolutely scrumptious! If you are a pecan pie fan you will love these and so much faster/easier than if you were to make a pie using your own crust. The result is superb. I took them to a Halloween potluck at work and got rave reviews and was asked numerous times for the recipe. So addicting!!! Even better the next day! I used dark corn syrup since it was what I had in hand and only one cup. The pan I used is the one for Lasagna and it was great. I will try it again on Thanksgiving and use the full measure next time to decide which I like best but I don't really know if you can improve on perfection. Thank you Sylvia for sharing your wonderful recipe.

Delicious and addicting! I wish I could have made it a little more moist, however. Anyway, this bread also goes well with pecans and walnuts for nut lovers!

Quinoa and Black Beans

Great recipe--easy, quick, healthy, and delish! I added a bit more cayenne pepper and also some garlic powder as well, and it turned out great! It's kinda Mexican-ey, probably from the cumin, and I loved it! This is stuff you can make all the time, and it's very satisfying yet not too heavy. Wonderful!

Shrimp Lemon Pepper Linguini

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
Great recipe if you love lemon and linguini! I personally do not like shrimp, but the sauce made them taste so good and it matched perfectly with the pasta. It was a little too lemony at first but balancing it out with other ingredients helped. A little extra sauce overall did the trick and voila! Great linguini =)

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
Good, quick, and extremely easy! I am a beginner cook and even on the first try it turned out amazing. Make sure you get fresh chicken breast for a nice and tender chicken. I also served it with a little parsley, and took others' advice and made extra sauce. Amazing over basmati rice! Cooking them together smelled soo good I couldn't wait to try it. I will definitely do it again!

Pumpkin Crumb Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
My kids loved this cake. They are great critics when it comes to pumpkin. I was laughing b/c some of my good friends always tell me that I like to make things that are in layers... well, maybe they are right but I can't wait to try this one on them. I did follow the recipe and the only changes I made was to add a little bit of nutmeg and a little ground cloves to the the pumpkin mix and chopped pecans for the crumb topping. Delicious!

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I made it for a snack and it turned out very munchy but a little soggy. I would definitely not use 2 eggs but 1 (one) and 1/2 a cup of wheat extra next time! A hint: One should cook until the borders start to get a little burnt so as to add some crunchiness. Worth trying again anyway!

Barbecued Beef Brisket

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
Delicious. I used the rub from "Busy Day BBQ Brisket" instead to add more spice to mine too. I agree with others that the time may be off. My brisket was still a little tough at 5 hours into it. Ended up needing to cook another 1 1/2 to 2 hours to be fork tender and I would recommend doubling the sauce.

Tasty Buns

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
I wanted to try this out by making it as written first. These were very easy to make in my Kitchen Aid and they were fast too. Now, what I've noticed that may be helpful to others is that it seems to have just a little too much of a yeast taste, so decreasing it a little may be the best solution because for 12 buns I don't believe the recipe would be impacted at all since they grew so much and I probably could have made 13 or 14. Besides that I'll have to try to substitute butter for the oil next time because in my opinion that would have made the recipe true to it's name "Tasty". Have to agree with Mallinda... They were absolutely beautiful to look at! I paired it with "Barbecued Beef Brisket from this site".

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

I did exactly as GOURMETMOMMY suggested as most other people have seemed to do. I had right under a cup of fresh lemon juice, so to up the flavor a little I put in some lemon zest too. It was great.

Delicious and easy. I followed the recipe with the exception of using Mushroom soup instead of chicken as others suggested. I will try the french fried onion on top sometime.

Honey Mustard Beer Brats

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
I thought these turned out really good. What I liked most was how easy it was to make. The addition of the bbq sauce was great. The house did smell good while it was cooking. I also skipped the red bell pepper as I didn't have any and used two green instead. I added more garlic than called for as I do with most dishes. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Hoot-n Holler Baby Back Pork Ribs

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
I'm glad I went for this one although there hadn't been any reviews before mine. I loved it. We loved it. The changes I made were minor. I added 1 more bay leaf, quartered a large onion and sprinkled some rub into the water mix as well. It smelled great as it was cooking and our mouths were salivating even prior to grilling. I doubled the sauce because I had 3 racks of ribs. I think that next time I'll either use a different BBQ sauce than Sweet Baby Ray's or use it but decrease the brown. It was just a tad sweeter than I've liked. But over all it was moist and fantastic!
