To the person who rated this as 1 star.We obviously each have our own opinions so I respect the fact that you didn't like the french dip. However you must have had a bad cut of meat because I have made it twice, my mom has made it twice and my sister in law once and we have all had very tender beef. I added worchestire sauce. I like things with a lot of favour so I get you on that one, but I have made it with home made french onion soup (onions, one garlic clove, beef broth, worchesterchire, and pepper and that turned out well.
Try it that way. I pretty sure it was the meat you got from the butcher. I have had tough meat before. It would not have been your cooking method since slow cookers are reliable so that is all I can think of.
