Mocha Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2007
FANTASTIC MUFFINS! They were an instant hit!! I did take some of the other reviews advice. I replaced half the butter with applesauce, used 3/4 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup unpacked light brown sugar. I also used 3 tablespoons of instant coffe dissolved in 2 tablespoons of water for more mocha flavour. These are one of the best muffins ever!

Honey Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2007
I love the subtle taste of the pineapple juice in these muffins. I've used regular raisins when I don't have golden on hand and are every bit as good. I do cut back on the brown sugar a bit tho to 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup instead of the full cup. The convience of making the batter the day before baking them is teriffic!

I'll rate this as a five. I think the person who gave you 1 but wanted to give you a zero.was not very accurate in the review. I tried it and I have no idea what this person was talking about. I suspect it was not made according to directions. We all at some time add an ingredient twice so I would suspect this is what happened.Of course it coould have been the temperature. Leanne

This is great. I am on a sodim reduced diet so I at least know that no extra salt (other that what may be in the chili powder) is added. Tastes great too.

This was great. I made only 2 changes when I made it. I used 3 skinless boneless chicken breasts (but mine may have been smaller. I did not have jasmine rice so I used basmati. I turned out great. I'll try it with the Jasmine rice next time. Leanne

The recipe is good. I however go with the viewpoint that you never cook with wine that you would not drink, so I used real Sherry.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2006
To the person who rated this as 1 star.We obviously each have our own opinions so I respect the fact that you didn't like the french dip. However you must have had a bad cut of meat because I have made it twice, my mom has made it twice and my sister in law once and we have all had very tender beef. I added worchestire sauce. I like things with a lot of favour so I get you on that one, but I have made it with home made french onion soup (onions, one garlic clove, beef broth, worchesterchire, and pepper and that turned out well. Try it that way. I pretty sure it was the meat you got from the butcher. I have had tough meat before. It would not have been your cooking method since slow cookers are reliable so that is all I can think of. Leanne

Favorite Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2006
These are great! I read over almost all the reviews attached to this recipe and I don't know what they are talking about. I competed the recipe as follows and only modifed 1 item which was the brown sugar, which I did not have enought of by adding the difference in white sugar and 1 tbsp molasses. I did bake them only at 350 for 10 mins, because I know my oven works best at that temp for cookies. They came out crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Perfect!!!

Banana Oatmeal Cookie

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2006
It is a good change from the everyday banana bread I make with leftover bananas. My hubby (the cookie monster in our family) enjoyed them and found them to be moist and cake-like. I will make them again, but will make some changes by adding peanut butter and temp to 350 for 12 mins (400 is to high for my oven).

Best Carrot Cake Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2005
This was a great recipe! I did do some changes to the recipe to suit our families taste. I added half a tsp of each ground cloves, allspice, nutmeg and 1 tsp of unsweetened coco. I reduced the carrots to half the amount and replaced the wlanuts with peacans. I used a family cream cheese icing and then covered the sides with peacan pieces. Presentation was excellent and it was tasty too.
