Angel Food Candy

This is by far the best sponge toffee recipe I have made. Only hint is to sift the baking soda first so there are no lumps in the sponge. I doubled the recipe and got 2 1/2 pounds of weight after dipping in dark chocolate.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
Made this for my son's birthday, frosted with Rich Chocolate Frosting, was a big hit. I reduced sugar to 1 1/2 cups, 3/4 white & 3/4 brown, reduced baking soda to 1/2 tsp as some had mentioned strong taste and I don't like that, used coffee for hot water. Baked in 9x13 pan for 35 minutes and it was perfect.

Holiday Cranberry Chutney

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
You HAVE to try this recipe this holiday (or anytime..lol!) I made this to serve as an appetizer at a Christmas party. I made it the night before and let me tell you, the smell of my kitchen while this was simmering was heavenly! I tried it after it had cooled and wow, was it delish! I served this over whipped cream cheese, I used 2 blocks. I poured the chutney over top and served it with crackers and a fresh baguette. Yummy!!!! I could not stop eating this...The only change I made was to use nutmeg instead of cloves. Thanks so much!!!!!

Baked Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
I altered this recipe to make it healthier, I used 6 potatoes, 1 onion diced, 2 cups shredded cheddar, 1/2 cup fat free sour cream, 1/2 cup fat free ranch dressing, sprinkled top with real bacon pieces and Emeril's Essence made with No Salt. I boiled the onion with the potatoes to soften. My family really liked this, I found it perfect the way I made it, cheesy enough and tasty, plus saved a ton of calories and fat.

Very nice recipe! I've made this a few times in the crock pot, using a light red wine instead of white and adding a couple sliced carrots as well. Served over egg noodles, this is perfect!

This so good with few ingredients and things you have around! I used 1 cup barley and added a can of drained and rinsed mixed beans. A big hit, served with Blue Ribbon Overnight Rolls. Can't wait for leftovers :)

Where have these been all my life???? I have never heard of snickerdoodles before!!! I made these on Saturday - one batch and it made about 5 dozen cookies, it is now Monday morning and they are all gone!!! :) hubby and Jr absolutely hoovered them up! Thanks for the great recipe! Didn't change a thing and very easy to make...although I wonder why the cream of tartar is in them...I can't figure out it's purpose....

OHHHHHHH!!!!!! YUM-MEEEE!!!! These are just amazing! super easy to make and do NOT miss the step of putting the dough in the fridge for 10 minutes! It firms up nicely, then WET your hands andand it is then super easy to shape the logs on the cookie sheet - I put mine on parchment paper to bake. Fabulous flavour! Thanks for the recipe! Will definitely make AGAIN!!!

Orange Cranberry Biscotti

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
My first time ever making biscotti, OMG!!!! fantastic! I did not have any liquour and wasn't going out to buy a bottle just for 2 tbsp so I subbed 1/4 fresh squeezed orange juice and doubled the amount of grated zest. VERY messy to try and get into the shape you need, but once done and in the oven, easy-peasy! I have taste tested them since they came out of the oven and have not iced them yeet, but will be dipping one half into melted white chocolate later after they cool. Thanks for the GREAT recipe Sara!!!!

Mini Pumpkin Butterscotch Muffins

I was pleasantly surprised, not a fan of butterscotch and had some chips to use up, kids really enjoyed as snacks. I did omit brown sugar and reduced the butter by half and subbed whole wheat flour. Next time I would increase the spices.

PHILADELPHIA Double-Chocolate Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
OMGOSH! Absolutely YUMMY Goodness! To help lighten the caloric load, I used the less fat Philly Cream Cheese, and seeing as I was L-A-Z-Y and not wanting to crush oreas (why waste a perfectly good cookie?) I bought already crushed oreo crumbs. I cut the recipe in half as I didn't need a 13x9 cheesecake to eat! :) For those wanting to know the equivalent of already crushed crumbs, I used 1 3/4 Cups for an 8x8 glass pan and used 1/4 cup melted butter. I also used parchment paper versus foil (my preference). Tip-pour the melted butter in first and let it cover the entire bottom, then put the crumbs in and press down all over to make an even surface. This is about one of the easiest cheesecake recipes around! and soooooo chocolately GOOD! ;) Thanks Philly!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
My teen aged son describes thees as "freekin Awesome!!!" The instructions were a little confusing when the recipe is doubled. The milk amount should not be 2/3 cup (double stated on the ingredient list) but rather follow the directions where you fill the measuring cup up to the 2 cup mark with milk after adding the eggs and oil to the cup first. They turned out very well using frozen wild blueberries(very small the size of currants) I found even though I did not double the topping I still had some left over. My sons and their friends devoured them after swim team practice. Thanks for a great recipe.
