Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
This tasted good, but I was really disappointed with the peanut butter inside. It as too thin and creamy and seemed like it should be more pasty/thick like the actual peanut butter cups. I probably won't make these again, sorry.

Irish Soda Bread in a Skillet

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
Crusty, dense, and chewy. I left it in for 30 minutes instead of the recipe's 15. It was delicious hot from the oven with butter. The dough was quite sticky, as many have mentioned, so I added a bit of extra flour before attempting to shape the dough.

Special Irish Beef Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
By the instructions of other reviewers, I added Basil, Thyme, and a Bayleaf, and also put salt and pepper on my beef. I also added turnips and parsnips to my stew at the same time as my carrots because I love me some root vegetables. As per my Irish father-in-law, I marinated the beef in Guinness extra stout for a little less than an hour before draining the beer and coating them in flour, and then when the recipe called for stout, I used Guinness draught. I found that it was still too Guinness-y for my family's tastes, even after the addition of brown sugar, so maybe next time I will stick to my father-in-law's method of making Guinness stew. The stew also took probably a half hour longer to cook than the recipe stated it would. I served it with "Irish Soda Bread in a Skillet" here on Allrecipes. After we ate, I baked the remaining stew in a low, low oven overnight, to to soften up the meat

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

I added balsamic vinegar and it tasted just perfect. We used a cheap cut of steak but with the marinade they turned out deliciously tender.

Sweet Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
The sauce totally didn't work out for me, but there was so much flavour in the porkchops that I didn't mind. Next time I will brown the chops before adding the liquid.

Turned out great! I rolled them in white and red decorator's sugar and they looked very festive. I also subbed fresh ginger (from the tube) for ground ginger because I didn't have any.

Turned out absolutely perfect! After following the recipe, I added about a 1/2 cup of Chocolate Mint Baileys and then enough flower to restore the cookie dough's consistency. They taste delicious. :)

Strawberry Vanilla Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
These were good- I used half ww flour, half white, and 1/2 tsp salt, and no oil. I do think that there was too much strawberries though- it made the cooked pancake seem raw it was so gooey with berries...next time I will only do a 1/2 cup. Yummy though, thanks.

A-MAZ-ING!!! Although, lol, I did add a couple tbsp of milk to the end batter as it was really really dry, I could hardly mix it. Anyways, it turned out great, and bravo to the icing! Tasts just like the jar kind! Definatley a keeper!

Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
This is an excellent starter recipe, it's very versatile which I love. I cooked my chicken, added garlic salt and chopped onions. Then added the taco seasoning, creamed corn, red kidney beans, mild salsa, 1 cup of rice, and 1/2 cup of sour cream. It's delicious! I plan to rip up a tortilla as suggested by another reviewer as I don't have taco chips, and then add some shredded cheese. It's huge! It is a tad spicy, so next time I will only add a tbsp of taco seasoning. I would definatly not put in a whole package unless you like it really spicy. Thanks!

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
This was really good and I'll make it again. But the sauce was kind of expensive to make, so next time I might just buy honey mustard dressing as I thought it tasted the same as boughten. I omitted the corn syrup based on other reviews. Also, don't cook the back too much before hand as it crisps up more in the oven, and the cheese should be added closer to the end as it kind of hardened on the top..BUT still good :)

Vanilla Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
I had read all reviews- good and bad, and I really wanted to be on the side of all those that rated good...but I cannot. These DID NOT turn out for me. It took forever to cook (using an 8x11 which someone suggested worked good for them)so I had to burn the outside to get it to cook. Then when it did cook, it was like glue on the inside. NEVER making these again. Sorry.

Pita Chips

These are very versatile as you can mix and match the herbs & spices to your own taste. Here's a helpful tip....try cutting the pitas with a pizza cutter! It's so much quicker & easier than using a knife.

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2007
These were a hit! The only thing I changed was putting them on the grill for a few minutes before serving which added a nice smoky BBQ flavour. Be careful though. The meat really does fall off the bones so they're a bit difficult to turn on the BBQ.
