I thought that these were good, but nothing special. Easy to make.

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
It's a good easy recipe. I had to play a little because I didn't have enough ketchup. I doubled the recipe and used 1 can of tomato paste. I doubled the water which was perfect for consistency. I also doubled the sugar because obviously ketchup is relatively sweet by itself. I also doubled the mustard and probably tripled or more the amount of worcestershire sauce. I always eyeball garlic, onion, salt and pepper. I ended up adding about 1/2 tsp of red wine vinegar, mostly to make up for the lack of tang from the ketchup. Worked really well.

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
I added cooked chicken to it, wasn't very happy with the end result. Could have been the veggie broth I used, it was homemade and not very strong. It was my first time using quinoa and was bad timing as my puppy had just gotten over a case of roundworms and I couldn't look at it without thinking about worms. :(

Grandma's Gingersnap Cookies

I personally can't stand gingersnaps but decided to make these for my dad since he loves them. They ended up quite thin but nice and chewy with a slightly crispy edge.

I used this marinade for wings, brushed on extra honey with lime juice while bbqing them. Was fantastic but will use more lime next time.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Was very easy to make and had all ingredients on hand. Found it to be far too salty for me, might try it again with more lemon and less parm.

Super Scrambled Eggs Number One

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
I usually don't need a recipe for scrambled eggs, but wanted to use my camera. So, I made this recipe as written, but cooked the minced onion with the bacon. Also used seasoning salt instead of the salt and pepper. These are really, really good. DH said I had out done myself this time. A keeper in his books.

Cream Puffs I

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
My cream puffs turned out nothing like the ones in the pictures.. They turned out very eggy, and not at all like what I thought they would be. The custard was great, but the puffs didn't turn out well at all...Won't use again.

Holiday Cheese Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
I absolutely LOVE this recipe! It is the exact one my grandma used to make every Christmas. Definitely use celery seed and garlic powder instead of their saltier counterparts. And I use 1/4 tsp of cayenne and it is perfect. This makes a HUGE cheeseball, so I make it into four little balls and freeze them and take them out if company's coming. They are even better after they've been frozen. :-) OH, and I use old Cheddar. Can't lose.

Simple Ranchy Breaded Fish Fillets

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
I made this for a friend for lunch yesterday and she loved it. Great timing on the recipe as I had some frozen tilapia and she had mentioned that she'd never had it. I followed some of the other reviews and tried to "lighten" the recipe. I used the crumbs mixed with some dry ranch dressing, dipped the fillets in skim milk then the crumbs, baked for 25 minutes at 350 and they were perfect, nice and moist! Even better than my old recipe that I've now thrown out. Thanks!

Italian Marinated Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
I've been marinating chicken breast like this for years, it's one of our favorite recipes! First I season the chicken with salt and pepper and italian seasoning, then add the italian dressing. Marinate for a few hours, then bake at 375 for about 35 minutes. Serve with a side of pasta, or rice and steamed veggies.

Almond Paste II

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
With the ingredients listed, the paste stays way too sticky - I ended up having to add more confectioner's sugar, almonds, and I added some corn starch to try and make it less sticky and more cohesive. The taste is great though (I omitted the extract, just don't like it personally)! That's the saving grace, just use less honey or increase the other amounts.

Faux-reo Filling

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
This recipe was really easy to make. It was a little stiff to pipe, so I added a little milk (about 1.5 Tbsp). It was pretty tasty, it tasted like Butter-cream icing that was a little cream cheese-y. Next time I might double the cream cheese to have a more pronounced cream cheese taste.

Faux-reos

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
I halved the recipe and used a really cheap $1 cake mix box, these cookies flatten out nicely in the oven. This recipe was really easy to make. My hubby said these were good. And that I should make them again. I used Faux-reos Filling with them.

Delicious Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
It's a good recipe. I didn't have taco sauce so I used ketchup. Because ketchup is already sweet I skipped the white sugar and only added half the molasses. Even that was a little too much and I ended up adding a little more vinegar to balance it back out again. The only other change I made was to add a couple of drops of liquid smoke to it. Really good as is though!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
I'm not sure why I waited so long so make these, but better later than never. Delicious! The rating and reviews say it all. I did invert my pan into another 9 x 13 after they had finished baking. Plus based on several reviews turned my oven down to 375* and slightly undercooked. Thanks, Marsha!!

Garlic and Herb Cream Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
As written I'll give it 4 stars only because it does not need all that butter. I put a little in, but no where near what it called for. It's a great recipe otherwise. No need to buy the garlic and herb cream cheese at the store anymore! Thanks!!
