About me:
I'm a gourmand. Crazy about all things food & drink. I prefer to spend my leisure time thinking, talking and shopping about and for food. I don't care if it's for pulled-pork sandwiches on Wonderbread or if it's an all-day Mexican mole. I love it!

Bacon and Tomato Cups

Reviewed on Mar. 16, 2008 by Astrid Davidson
I noted the reviews and doubled the recipe but didn't increase the amount of mayo. I think one only needs enough to make it stick together. Also, living in a small town on Vancouver Island means I can't always get all products. In this case it was the buttermilk biscuits. So, I used the flaky roles instead and divided them in three! Also I used muffin papers since I don't like greasing pans and they worked fine after letting them cool to take off the paper. I will certainly make them again.

Roti Bread from India

Reviewed on Jan. 29, 2008 by Astrid Davidson
Not like Roti I've tasted but still very good and went well with a currie dinner I served. I found it difficult to control the heat and also I really needed a hugh grill for this.

German Currywurst

Reviewed on Dec. 19, 2007 by Astrid Davidson
I looked and looked at this recipe and although I usually follow a recipe to a "T" the first time I could not bring myself to use 3 cans of tomato sauce. Then, I discovered I had no tomato sauce and used ketchup and chili sauce and sprinkled 1 tsp. of curry powder on top. I guess it's nothing like the original. I brought it to one of those pot-luck appy nights and it was a big hit so I've rated it four stars.
