I made this for my mom's birthday and it was a huge hit! My mom isn't even a huge chocolate fan (but wanted it because the rest of the family is) and she LOVEd it. THanks!

Raspberry Ribbons

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
This is a pretty simple recipe. One thing I would suggest is that you use jam or jelly and not a low sugar spread. Low sugar spreads do not have enough sweetness to them and the flavor vanishes into the cookies (at least mine did). I also tried to top with an icing with almond flavoring. This could work, as there are raspberry almond thumbprints on this site that use it. But I found it was a little over powering, so next time I will stick with the recommended vanilla.

These are so good, we followed the directions exactly except cooked it around 350 instead of 375 (my oven tends to be hot). I added the vanilla other reviewers suggested and had to use butter because i had no shortening.. EVERYONE in my family LOVED these...

This is by far the best buttercream recipes I've ever made, or eaten!! Its not too sweet like most buttercreams, and it doesn't hurt your teeth. I used half butter, half shortening, it turned out so creamy!!

Scottish Shortbread IV

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
These were really good, I think they would be better around the holidays though! They were just what we needed to cure our sweet tooth, and perfect for the ingredients we had in the house, no eggs, no chocolate chips, no cocoa. I only left mine in for about 15 minutes, and I didn't add any vanilla or salt, just follwed recipe exactly. How do you cut the rectangles so straight?! Do you cut them or use a cookie cutter? We had no rectangle cookie cutter, so we cut them with a knife, and they were so wobbley :S I can't wait to make these for Christmas!!!!

Banana Pudding IV

This was a really great and very easy recipe. I used two small boxes of french vanilla pudding. I also didn't have nilla wafers so I used coconut cookies. They complimented the pudding very well. I took this to a 4th of July thingy and everybody loved it. I added cookie crumbs to the top

Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
I needed another frosting recipe besides buttercream and fondant and this one caught my eye as an easy to make, tasty finish to a white cake with lemon filling I was asked to make for a friend. WOW! the sample cake I made for my family was a hit and this frosting was the perfect fit for the cake. I did hold back a little on the sugar as I didn't want it too sweet. Thanks.

Heavenly White Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
I am expanding my cake recipes and this one "takes the cake" for a white cake recipe. Moist and delicious, and very white. Takes a little time to put together, but the results are fantastic. I did however add a little extra milk as some other reviews suggested. I used this recipe for a layer cake with lemon filling and cream cheese frosting. Thanks.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
I followed this recipe quite close. Some difference: I used lean ground beef, two hot peppers, but not chili's specifically, and I added about 1 1/2 cups of frozen corn, because I'm quite fond of Chili with corn added. Really it's not a lot of change, so I got a good idea what this would taste like had I made it exactly as written. I made this for a Church lunch and it was gobbled up fast! It was very well liked by the crowd at large; the pot scraped clean long before the lunch was done, while other people's chili's still remained. If you want a crowd pleaser this is definitly an excellent chili to go with. Thanks so much for sharing the recipe!

Sloppy Sams

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
I have to rate this a 5, although I added some brown sugar because I like my joes sweeter.. My husband said I should have left the recipe as is and is sure he would have loved the more savory version. Our three year old ate all his sloppy and none of his bun. I did not find this recipe bland and wonder if for those people who said it seemed bland if it was the lentils or tomatoes or paste used???

My son who is the pickiest eater on the planet with many food aversions, LOVES THESE!! And they are healthy.. By the way I went and bought the ground flax seed for when I make them next time.
