Honey Lime Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2007
We really enjoyed these wings, so different, fresher tasting. I admit I did deep fry them, but having read all the reviews from people who baked them instead, I will try that next time, and there will be a next time for these.

Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 22, 2007
These were really yummy. I am always using the same oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe and this was a nice change. One that I will keep for sure. I love the oatmeal taste and the sweetness is absolutely perfect. I did not change anything. Definately a keeper! Thank you!

Jean's Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2005
I made this recipe and started to wounder when the sugar was going to evaporate. It never did. Too much sugar and it produced a grainy fudge. It wasn't a hit with me.

Did these last night and followed the recipe exactly. Got so many compliments, I had to credit the source. These are incredible, easy, and fill the house with wonderful smells. I slow boiled the marinade for 20 minutes or so to blend the flavors as Kristy suggested. Awesome!! Thank you!

Kraft's Broccoli Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2005
A friend brought this dish over to my house the day I came home from the hospital after having my first daughter. It was so wonderful to have a warm, healthy dish (she added chicken and used brown rice) because It didn't even dawn on me to make dinner. It has always been a comfort food since. I make it all the time for my husband and kids and we all love it. It's easy and tastes fantastic.

Lite Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2005
Okay... this is only getting 3 stars from me, but I'm pretty sure it's my fault. I really altered this recipe, and I pretty much botched it. I used all white flour. I used 2 cups of carrots and I used apple sauce instead of the oil, and then ended up adding 2 tbsp. oil. Also added a dash of nutmeg. The result? Gummy muffins that takes you an hour to get through. So, I'm sure this is probably a terrific recipe if you don't mess with it. Guess it just proves that you really shouldn't mess with a good thing.

Divine Summertime Chicken Sandwich

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2005
This is a GREAT sandwich! The only alterations that I made are: I grilled my chicken breasts (I used very thin chicken breasts), I used fresh dill and no butter. I also let the chicken cool completely before adding it to the sandwich. Then I wrapped them, and packed them for my picnic! Really fresh and delicious. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Thank you SO much for such a terrific recipe!

Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2005
I just made these and they are AMAZING! The only thing I added (like most others) was a tsp. of vanilla extract. I also added some chopped walnuts to half of them. It made 12 large muffins, and I baked them for 20 minutes. Thanks for the great recipe I will be using over and over. My picky 3 year old daughter even loves them!

Quick and Easy Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2005
Wow. What an awesome basic soup! I used low-sodium, fat free chicken broth and added a cup of peas in with it. It's extremely versatile and you could change and substitute ingredients easily. I seriously recommend this healthy soup. Almost no effort, but tastes great! Thanks so much!

Hummus III

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2005
Been making Hummus for 35 years. This is THE recipe! I've made gallons of this one, and lived next door to a Lebanese family in Georgia recently, the Dad a restaurant owner, who live on Hummus... and mine (this one) kicked butt! Add 1/4 to 1/2 C roasted red peppers to the mix for color and flavor to die for. Forget the blender. If a blender works, it's too thin. A big, heavy duty Quisinart will save hours! Another tip: Fill muffin tins, then freeze them, then put the Hummus portions in a bag in the freezer. One cake, thawed, warmed a little, with 2 T Premium olive oil, sprinkled with sesame seeds, served with warmed pita bread is the way to go. SOOooooo good for you!!

Pasta Puttanesca

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2005
The origional pasta puttanesca is supposed to be spicy. Use extra virgin olive oil, use REAL anchovies, and crushed red pepper. No flour. No cheese. It is meant to be a more liquidy dish to be mopped up with fresh crusty bread. Also, there should not be any chicken in this dish, and less capers and olives. And canned tomatoes are definitely the way to go to get the right consistency. Thanks anyways though.

Orange Surprise

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2005
I used to drink this all of the time when I was little. I am in Canada and my parents used to run the Legion kitchen, so we were always talking to the bar staff. One of the ladies used to make me this drink with a few alterations. She used Coke,a splash of Sprite, orange juice and Grenadine. And she also used to call it Swamp Water, It was my absolute favourite back then. I haven't had one in years, but now that you have reminded me, I think I will have to make some soon! Thanks!
