Mom's Warm Milk

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
Putting milk in the microwave detracts from its nutritional value, so heating in a small saucepan on med heat is a better option. This is definitely a 5 star recipe. My grandparents made a variation of this when i was young, now i can FINALLY recreate it! thank you so much for posting; i substituted cinnamon as well.. next time i will try fresh ground nutmeg.

Burnt Sugar Icing

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
I didn't realize how much work frosting is before engaging in this recipe. It took me more than 15 minutes to make, and I ended up with a rather thick mixture. Don't know what I did wrong, but probably didn't know when to stop boiling. We all really enjoyed the result, though, and I am calling it one of my favorites. Four stars because it took more than 15 minutes to make--cutting into my nap time! :)

Easy Decadent Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
I made these for my Christmas goody give aways this year and everyone "loves" them. I made them exactly as suggested. I then made a sugar free batch for the diabetics in my life using splenda (followed the instructions on the splenda site to use like icing sugar) and sugar free chocolate and they turned out great too!!

Angel Chicken Pasta

This was to DIE for! It was so amazing. I only added one can of mushroom soup because that's all I had and added 1.5 cups of chicken broth instead of wine. I also added fresh mushrooms and served with noodles. My husband LOVED it and he's picky. Thank you so much!

Portobello Mushroom Stroganoff

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
definitely not the best recipe i've found. incorporating some of the advice in the reviews, i added worc. and soy sauce, and cooked the mushrooms with a minced clove of garlic. despite this, the sauce was overpowering. I've never had stroganoff before, so i'm not sure how valid my opinion is - i didn't think it was that great though.

suprisingly good! 4stars. really quick and tastes great, with ingredients always in the kitchen..convenient for a chocolate craving! the amount of cornstarch is a little weird, but i won't be buying instant pudding any more

WONDERFUL base recipe, when altered for personal preference, it's amazing!! i strongly reccomend using a flavored cream cheese (i used Philadelphia's roasted red pepper), and whirring them together first. also, stuff with fresh chopped spinach for some green flavour and texture. i also breaded mine, it was fabulous. will make again and again and again!

Maple Salmon

The boyfriend loved it, and it's not a bad recipe.. the soy sauce might have been too salty for me; also, the flavors didn't seem to permeate the fish, perhaps because syrup is too viscous? next time i will try the marinade with less soy and i might microwave it or something? hot water? something is missing...

Feta Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
Great recipe, would be a 5 with my alterations. I followed some of the advice, and mixed chopped sun dried tomatoes and feta in my bullet, and tore up some fresh basil to stuff the chicken with. Also, instead of using breast halves, i simply butterflied the meat cuts; splitting the meat allows for a faster cook time. Other than that, just spice up the bread crumbs with parm, salt, pepper, and whatever dried herbs turn your crank! a keeper for sure.

What a great (and quick) way to prepare a rich and cheesy sauce! This is my staple alfredo recipe from here on in, wouldn't change a thing.. just tweak the amount of milk to keep it creamy. doesn't keep well, but what a hit!

We really enjoyed these wings, so different, fresher tasting. I admit I did deep fry them, but having read all the reviews from people who baked them instead, I will try that next time, and there will be a next time for these.
