Butternut Soup

I will admit that I've not made this particular recipe, but it is so similar to what I do make. I add a couple of rashers of bacon diced to the one onion and sautee together, also I use light evaporated milk, deleting the cream for calories sake. Hope this helps others.

Quinoa Tabbouleh

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
Quite a good salad, I like to add lots of other veges, whatever I've got on hand usually works well in it, the only thing I did differently was to make the vinaigrette separately so I could taste it first. A good way to use quinoa

French Bread Rolls to Die For

Not bad! I really like it! I made 32 buns, and 10 people ate them all ine one meal!!! I ate four! this is a great recipe. I think that you could add a bit of honey to make it a bit sweeter, but apart from that, a great recipe!

This is a simple marzipan, iand is the best kind. If you want to make orange marzipan, add a bit of orange juice and food colouring.

Hummingbird Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
this cake is fantastic, for starters i bake it in a round tin rather thatn a jelly-roll pan. I usually use 4 medium to large really ripe bananas for fuller flavour, i also add a whole can of the crushed pineapple (if you in australia the golden circle one)so then the cake is really moist and stays that way for days. its also great becasue its dairy free, i then make it even more over the top by covering it with a banana frosting using dairy free margerine then srinkle shreaded coconut over it.. my mum loves this cake i have to stop her eating it all in one day!

Country White Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
This is my first success with white bread. It is, as others have said, slightly more dense than I thought it would be, but is still very good. I halved the recipe and brushed the top of the loaf with melted margerine before baking, which created a nice crust. Will make again.

Aioli (Garlic Mayonnaise)

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
Tweaked by less oil (about half),double the dijon and garlic, used lime juice and seasoned with salt, cracked pepper and a couple of pinches of sugar just to balance the taste. Fabulous consistency even hand whisked. Everyone loved it, used as a dip and a salad dressing.

Spooky Witches Fingers

These were great looking and tasting, I think I put icing at the other end of the finger as well and then put a bowl of red icing out just incase someone wanted to dip again. Love them and hopefully will make them again this year too. Didn't last for long at my party...

This is so flavoursome! I also tried as well as adding lime, adding a small amount of orange juice. It made a big difference, and made it seem spicier.

Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
This was a lovely moist cake and I have been asked for the recipe on many occasions. I have also had success using this recipe in two loaf pans rather than as one big cake. I like to make one loaf to take out and then I put the other loaf in the freezer. Also if I leave out the milk and do not put the topping on, this makes a scrumptious muffin. Thank you for such a versatile recipe!

This isn't a bad marzipan. I think you should make it a bit simpler though, and also without the dangerous raw eggs.

I left the bacon bits out but added real grilled bacon as a topping to the burger. Usually I love horseradish but I just didn't think it tasted right in a burger.
