Baked Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
Tasty wings, but it's not exactly healthy as "Baked" would imply. Swimming in butter and I don't think I have quite the right Hot Sauce. The brand I got was so hot that I only used a 1/4 of what the recipe called for and it turned out to be an acceptable hotness but didn't quite have enough of that spicy and sour flavour. Will keep looking for a better hot sauce.

Mini Orange Mince Pies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
These were so easy to make and had a lovely flavour to them. The only thing I did differently was use chilled pure orange juice instead of water for the pastry. Two trays of these were gone in three hours at my work, so they were definately a bit hit!

Vegetable-Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
I omitted the cheese on this dish to make a vegan/vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free potluck lunch dish. It was so yummy and the aroma whilst it was cooking was heavenly. Totally drool-worthy, thank you so much for a recipe that caters to a mixture of different dietary needs.

Applesauce Raisin Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
This was so easy to make as part of a gift platter. I did not have quick cooking oats so I pulsed normal rolled oats in a blender until very fine and that worked well as a substitute.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
This dough was very hard to work with for me, even after chilling as suggested. However, with a little bit of patience I ended up with a lovely tasted cookie that also tasted fabulous.

Polynesian Coleslaw

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
I have made this fou times in two weeks from the cabbage in my garden. It is so good as a side dish for pork dishes and is also a nice change from the standard coleslaw recipes.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
I made this for my mum's birthday brunch and it was the most tasty and good-looking quiche I have ever made. Everyone commented on how good it was. I was very happy with the end result. I did use olive oil spray instead of the butter and 1% milk to cut down on the fat content, and it was still delicious!

Thai Green Curry Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
I added vegetables (red and yellow peppers, asparagus, carrot, bamboo shoots) and used thin pork slices and 6 prawns instead of 1 pound of chicken. I did add a handful of Thai Basil at the end just because I have heaps on hand. I am personally not a big fan of Thai curries, but I think this is the best one I've ever tasted and my partner thinks it deserves a 5 even though it's not the best he's ever had.

Vietnamese Fresh Spring Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2008
Didn't really care for this, for all the effort of prep and finding the ingredients, the final product wasn't all that fantastic taste wise. I liked the texture and aroma of the herbs, but was really lacking in flavor. I made the shrimp ones with the addition of crisp blanched asparagus, shredded carrots and sprouts. And I made another lot with marinated thin pork slices which helped with the flavor aspect. My favorite part was the 1st sauce, without the sauce the rolls would have been barely edible. The final product did look really cool though, I wouldn't make this again unless it was for a fancy party or something. It was a good light meal, very fitting for a hot afternoon.

Greek Lamb-Feta Burgers With Cucumber Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
These were delicious but extremely messy to eat. The cucumber sauce made this recipe, it was so tasty. I will be making these a lot over the summer as they are very quick and easy.

Classic Waffles

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly and the final product was great if not better than any other recipes I've used before. SO SIMPLE and fast, no mucking around with beating eggs separately and all that. Crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. I was pleasantly surprised by ending up with 7 serving instead of 5. Yeh... more for me. I used the 5 heart, flower shaped waffle iron. Well use again in the future and probably will tweek it a bit just for the sake of doing so with flavourings and such. Thank for sharing.
