Banana Banana Bread

I accidentally used baking powder instead of baking soda and it still came out moist and had a nice flavor, but I could tell something just wasn't right. I kept tasting it saying,"Something is missing." Well...now I know. That is why I need a computer in the kitchen. Sometimes writing it down on a piece of paper leads to mistakes.

This is the best French dressing ever! French dressing in Australia is greenish and I hate it. This is so good. I will never have to worry about not getting french dressing anymore. Yay!

Lemon Poppy Seed Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
My husband, who normally rarely eats dessert, loves this cake. The only thing I change is that I add a dash of lemon essence to the cake mix and then do a lemon juice/butter/iccing sugar glaze. It has become a staple around our house.

I made this cake for a work bithday and everyone loved it but they all said the same thing... not enough chocolate so next time i will double the cocoa. The icing came out perfectly for me. trick is to make all the ingredients room temp.

Chile Garlic BBQ Salmon

Great recipe. Made it in the oven. My wife normally does not like fish, but she loved this. Very easy to make, and prepare.(I served it on a bed of rice) Highly recommend this for even the novice, could not get any easier. I cooked it at 190 degrees C for 30 Min in a Al. Foil bag and just scored the fish and poured the mixture in the bag. Thanks for this great recipe.

Excellent cake! Didn't have a bundt pan so I adjusted the recipe to 3/4, used a normal loaf pan and the cake turned out beautifully golden and deeelicious. This is my husband's new favourite butter cake. A real keeper!

The Best Chocolate Cake You Ever Ate

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2008
This recipe is aptly named--it just might be the best chocolate cake I have ever eaten... No alteration was necessary, and it was a very simple cake to put together, not to mention that it tasted fantastic! Very moist, and it stayed that way for days. It makes a very good birthday cake. (The recipe also works well baked in two round pans, if you want a layer cake.)

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars IV

Based on other reviews I cut the butter down to 3/4 cup and it was plenty. Next time I would increase the amount of chocolate and use a bigger tin - I found the base was too thick. Great taste though.

D's Famous Salsa

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2008
I used one can of Mexican style stewed tomatoes and one can of diced tomatoes (with no salt added). I added a dash of chili powder and only 1/2 a teaspoon of salt because I felt that there would be enough from the stewed tomatoes. I used 1/2 of one fresh jalapeno (with the seeds), and this provided the perfect amount of heat. I, personally, could handle more but this amount makes it enjoyable for everyone. I used a food processor and used the pulse button only a few times to get the right consistency! Excellent recipe!

Lubia Polo (Green Bean Rice)

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2008
Excellent winter warmer and family staple meal! I'm a lazy cook: here's how I tweaked it to be even easier! Instead of jalapenos I used 1/2 fresh green beans and 1/2 chopped bell pepper (red is yummy). Lazy cook alert! Instead of using a pot on the stove, whack the mixture (after rice has barely absorbed the liquid) into your electric RICE COOKER, hit the start button and leave it alone! If your cooker is non-stick like mine, the 'rice cake' will pop out in perfect shape when you're ready for dinner! An excellent one-pot meal!

Panna Cotta

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2008
I made this for my dinner group this week. It was extremely tasty, though I wish I had read the recipe the night before and made it well ahead of time. Because of my lack of time planning, the panna cotta hadn't quite set fully. I served this in decorative glasses, so I didn't have to worry about getting the shape out of the ramekins (I don't own any ramekins). I made a rasperry puree sauce (bag of frozen rasperries, little sugar and vanilla, heated to just lower than room temperature) which I dabbed on top of each glass, and then drizzled a little fudge over the top. It was a huge hit.
