Beef Bourguignon II

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2007
Very good recipe. I halved the recipe, and therefore shortened the baking time by half an hour. If I ever half it again (which I won't, because it's a great recipe and I would want to make a big portion), I would decrease it by a further half an hour, just so it would stay moist. It tasted very good and homey, and I would definitely make this again and again. Unlike another user, I didn't find this time consuming cooking-wise, it was pretty simple. I made it for dinner with my boyfriend, and when he came back for seconds, the portion was bigger than the first one! We also drank the wine I used for the cooking. I highly recommend this, and thank you for sharing!

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2007
These are unreal! i just have some things to add that will make this a lot easier. Firstly i put all the dry ingredients(including the yeast and pure whole wheat flour)in my kitchenaid bowl and mixed it with a spoon. Than i added the wet ingredients, and i let everything run on slow until the dough was formed. i let it rise for 1 hour, formed the balls to pancake shaped discs. Put them on a REGULAR COOKIE SHEET WITH PARCHMENT PAPER, and let them rise for 1/2 hour. i than put them in a 500 degree oven for 4 minutes, wrapped them in a regular kitchen towel(no brown bag handy),and removed them after 10 minutes. They were perfect!!!!!

Ultimate Double Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2007
Taste-wise, pretty good. Didn't like the coffee flavor so will not use that again. But I was very disappointed and felt kind of tricked- this is a BROWNIES batter, no matter how you shape it. So if you like your brownies cookie-shaped, go ahead. But to me, these are not real cookies.

Feta and Olive Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2007
Very good meatballs. Forgot to buy olives and didn't have italian seasoning (they don't stock that in Israel), so didn't use these ingredients. However, I did add some fresh chopped basil. I think two eggs are a bit too much, so next time I'll use only one. Also, used both ground turkey and ground beef. Finally, I baked it in the over and it came out very good! Loved the idea of the feta cheese. Will definitely do this again, this time will try to remember to buy olives.

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2007
They're ok. Nothing spectacular. Maybe I'm a CCC snob, I dunno. One thing the recipe doesn't specify is how large the cookie dough droppings should be. I used TBS-sized droppings (ha! that sounds funny) and I had to bake them for 15 minutes rather than the time mentioned here. Also, it made much more than 12 servings. I figured 1 serving=1 cookie. It made about 48 cookies.

Fortune Cookies I

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
I was so excited to find this recipe. I doubled the recipe and added a few TBL water and a bit of oil to the batter. The hardest part at first was shaping it so I devised this method after a few tries: I placed a kitchen towel on the table and on top of it a piece of wax/baking paper. Then I placed the flat cookie hot out of the oven on it, inserted fortune and quickly sealed it(keeping my hands on opposite side of towel) and placed in muffin pan to cool. Give yourself a couple hours for this since you can only make about 2-3 at a time.

Wow! This recipe was a total hit at hoe, I just added an extra teaspoon of curry, two garic coves, and I only used 1/4 cup of margerine instead of butter because I keep kosher. Excellent!

Chicken And Apple Curry

This was quite tasty. I used coconut milk and more curry. I also baked it over a bed of raw rice and added water. The flavors seeped into the rice. I only didnt really taste a distinct apple flavor.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2007
I like it, it is nice. I did not give it 5 stars because it was not as soft as I would have liked it to be. It is more a real LOAF, as in "bready" if you ask me. I even added walnuts and some chocolate chips. It was good when warm and my boyfriend even loves it right out of the fridge. All in all a very good recipe and SO EASY!

Tomato and Basil Quiche

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
This was fantastic!!! I changed it slightly based on other people's suggestions. I only used 1 tomato (seeded but not peeled) and about 4-5 sundried tomato halves in oil. I chopped those up and tossed with the flour and basil. I only used ONE teaspoon of basil. I think that made a difference. I used the No Roll Pie Crust II (which I DID bake beforehand). I only had 2 eggs, so I added a bit more milk (3%) to compensate. The recipe turned out great!!! Next time I may double it (maybe not all the cheese) and go crustless. I HIGHLY recommend this recipe with my changes.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2007
Just to add my applause to the list - these were fantastic! I also made by hand (no bread machine), and used a quick-rise method - placed the dough in a warm oven for 20 minutes, then when baking, started the oven on a very low temp for 5 minutes (150 F) and then cranked it up to the right temperature for 15 minutes. Amazing! I also used vanilla/cinnamon sugar and dark brown packed sugar for the filling. enjoy

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie

I thought this turned out quite good (though mine was also pretty dense). Some friends said it was really salty. And it possibly was--though I like ccc's to be slightly salty (as is normal). I don't know why, I followed the recipe exactly.
