About me:
I am fondly known as "the baker" at work because I bake all the time, but few people know that I prefer cooking real meals. I like making alot of more ethnic foods, and I'm always on the hunt for good recipes from around the world. Right now I love making up different kinds of soups, but I also enjoy making full course meals. Im single and live alone, so cooking is a bit of a challenge, as I hate to waste food. I like to cook healthy, so I try alot of recipe substitution to make things lower calorie and fat.

Roasted Sweet Potatoes & Onions

Reviewed on Sep. 21, 2009 by lupusliz
What a great recipe! I was looking for something nutritious with an autumn flavor, and this was just the ticket. A few changes I made: Like other reviewers suggested, I decreased the amount of dried thyme. I just used what was left in the shaker, probably 1/2-3/4 tsp, and it was plenty. The subtle flavor was wonderful. Also, I subbed orange juice for amaretto, because I'm on a bit of a tight budget and OJ is a more practical choice for my household. Last, I threw in some prunes (sliced in half) because I love them. They're full of iron, they add color contrast to the dish, and they're delicious!

Greek Lentil Salad

Reviewed on Aug. 11, 2009 by canuckinjapan
This salad was awsome!! I didn't have greek dressing so I used the oil/dressing that came with the feta. I don't know what lentils are either so I used kidney beans. This was the top recipe that came up in my feta/kidney bean search. Brilliant.
