World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
the best i've had although i made a few mods. first of i had to drop the sasage for faith reasons so i upped the beef and the ricotta. now that i had more ricotta i used the recipe from my spinach manicotti minus the egg since i'm not piping it. then to make it look pretty i used whole leaf basil on top after the last layer of cheese.

Pastachutta

i dig it but it is a little bit on the bland side. i took the advise about color and onions. this is what i did. i omitted the onions and added some yellow bell pepper for color. then after it was done i chopped some basil in to a chiffonade and since i omitted to onion i added some chives. tasty and colorful

Spinach Cheese Manicotti

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2007
This is a really good base recipe. I do agree with some of the others that there is just a little bit to much spinach but its still very tasty. i cut the water down to one cup. still to much sauce but its better to have too much then too little. i was kinda affraid to add water to my sauce because its my scratch but it came out perfect. love it.

Pumpkin Cheesecake Pie

I made this recipe for Thanksgiving this year and I was impressed! I haven't got any experience with pies or cheesecake and this was delightful to make and eat. The nuts in the crust really add a unique flavor and texture. Needless to say, I will be making this again!

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2007
Extremely disappointed with this recipe. If I could give 0 stars, I would. The quantity of liquid is too much for the quantity of bread. The top of the dish looked beautiful with a wonderful carmel color, but the inside of the dish was a mushy, mealy texture. Was hoping for a great breakfast idea to make on Sunday mornings to help with the morning rush for church, but not so. From the raves reviews, thought it would be a great dish, but it was a unappealing, nasty mess of mush. Would have been better off making French toast the old fashioned way.

Definitely missing something. Maybe I'll try adding rosemary or tyme next time. Also You seriously don't need TWO 4 oz cans of sliced black olives. One was more than enough.

Delicious! This one's real easy to make and quick. I used a boboli pre-made crust and it turned out great. Add italian seasoning and garlic to the crust for a little italian kick.

Vegetarian Four Cheese Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2007
I'm trying the vegetarian thing for a month to see wether or not I like it. With recipies like this it makes the veg thing rock! This recipe is simple to make for "guys" starting out on the cooking thing. I made this for my wife and she loved it. Next time I make it I'll add portobello mushrooms and onions. The baked tomatoes aren't really needed and tends to make it more soupy.

These are so good! I changed the recipe a little by adding twice as much worcestershire and omiting the salt and Italian seasoning. They were moist and delicious but not too salty--perfect. In fact we are having them for dinner again tonight. Thanks, great recipe!

Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Reviewed: May 10, 2007
Wow, this recipe was fabulous! I placed my leftover ham bone in the pot to cook w/everything, and at the end of the day I took the ham bone out, pulled off the remaing ham and returned the ham to the pot. I also took out all the chunks (all the veggies), minus the sausage and ham, and blended in a blender, added it back to the soup and mixed it in w/the liquid and ham & sausage. Oh, also used 4 cups chicken broth and 6 cups water. Heavenly, and absolutely filling. My kids both LOVED this meal!!!

I love this! It tastes so g0od and it's very easy to make. To those wh0 gave this a 1 star try making this again but make sure that you use the thick teriyaki sauce (I recommend using Kikkoman Baste&Glaze teriyaki sauce) instead of the regular teriyaki marinade. A definite keeper! Thanks for sharing :)

Ham N Cheese Potato Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2007
Great basic one-pot recipe. I always love basic recipes that you can use and by adding things make my own. The first time I made this, I used all the ingredients called for in the original recipe. The second time I made this, I did not have sour cream or a can of condensed potato soup. So, instead I used a package of cream cheese, a half of pint of heavy cream and a can of condensed mushroom soup. Both times I also used 16 oz of shredded cheddar cheese. It turned out great both ways!!! A totally yum recipe that can be made for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I am going to make it for my mother's group. Thanks for sharing!!!

Mom's Coleslaw

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2007
This is an awesome an super quick recipe. I am very picky about my slaw and prefer the slaw from Long John Silver's Restuarant. This slaw taste just like their slaw, sweet and tangy. I used pre-shredded cabbage and carrots, light mayo and splenda sugar. I also added a bit a black pepper because I like pepper in my slaw. It was perfect after just putting it together and I am sure it will be even better tomorrow. THANKS!!!

Easy Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2007
mmm..mmm.. mmmm.. Great Enchiladas without the hassle! I did some few minor changes though, co0k the chicken meat in taco seasoning and dip flour tortillas in heated heavy cream before putting the mixture on it (this idea is from Gerry's chicken enchilada w/c can also be found in this site). We now have Spanish night on dinner rotation because of this recipe. Definitely a keeper!

Amish Meatloaf

Since I'm a firm believer that brown sugar should not go in the meatloaf but rather on it, I used the "Rempel's Family Meatloaf Recipe" (found in this site to0) f0r the meatloaf and kept this recipe's glaze.. I don't know bout y'all but that for me is a five star recipe. ;)
